Storyteller's Art,

This review is from: Wise and Foolish Tongue (Paperback)
Many of the tales in this book are word-for-word transcriptions of stories that Robin has recorded on his "Celtic Gems" albums and continues to perform. They are living, breathing renditions as delivered by a master practitioner of the storyteller's art. These are best when read out loud. If you are looking for "authenticism" (whatever that means) or some sort of scholarly translation of old texts, then you should probably look elsewhere.

Somewhat disapointed,

I found this book to be very, very English in its delivery of the various Irish, Scottish, and Welsh stories. While I think that this was in part the author's intent, it just didn't feel very authentic to me.I think for people who are looking for a very accessible introduction to such stories, this is a good book, but it is just not very useful beyond this limited role.
