5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, May 8, 2007

Ever since Wu-Tang indie culture, and the Bronze Solo it felt like finally there are some new releases for me to listen to. The beats are solid, lyrics are tight. Great Album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bringing it back!, April 26, 2007
This review is from: Wisemen Approaching (Audio CD)
First impressions ARE important and as the cover art work suggests some quality work has been put in here. Just bought this and although I'm not to familiar with some MC's on here, Bronze and Killah Priest aside, they all bringing some quality skillz to the mic. Beats an that sound new and fresh. Just go buy it if you love HIP-HOP.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hip Hop Intellectuals, February 8, 2008
This review is from: Wisemen Approaching (Audio CD)
What can I say that hasn't been said about this joint? Bronze Naz does it again with killer production of course, but has gone beyond himself with the lyrical content. This is one of the deepest CD's that I have heard in, forever. I had to listen to it a few times to soak in the clever wordplay they use. I have been a fan of Bronze since him and Dreddy Krueger put together the equally fantastic Think Differently - Wu Meets the Indie Culture. Even though these guys are affiliated/associated with the Wu, they represent Detroit to the fullest. Even though it is almost a year old now, it is classic and critical Hip Hop to add to your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Another classic to add to the repertoire...", March 1, 2007
This review is from: Wisemen Approaching (Audio CD)
Just hit Bronze up about this classic album for 2007. Whatever you do, don't sleep on this joint. It's definitely bringing some originality to it, but only like the crew can. Much luv to my brothas Bronze and Kevlaar (I'm sure I'll meet Phillie and Salute soon). Ya'll keep bringing these hits. The mixture of "original" lyrics and solid production should bring this album to the attention of anyone who follows Wu and real hip hop...not HIP POP!! The average Wu listener would be surprised to know that this was the team's debut album. It's a masterful blend of experience and raw talent, well arranged and composed. Big props to The Wisemen...breaking through in 2007.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hip-Hop Needs More Albums Like This, March 1, 2007
This review is from: Wisemen Approaching (Audio CD)
Babygrande spoils us with two new blazin' albums on a same day, one of which is Wisemen Approaching. Well, as soon as I heard that exec. producer is Dreddy Kruger, and Bronze Nazareth is among the producers as well, I knew that whatever is coming is in good hands and at least is going to be tight. However, Wisemen Approaching turned out to be more than tight. The beats are intricate and vary greatly from song to song, which keeps your attention peeled. Lyrics... well, names like Vast Aire, Planet Asia, Killah Priest and GZA speak for themselves.
If you heard and enjoyed Think Differently Music, you'll love Wisemen Approaching. If you have not, than Wisemen Approaching is a good place to start.

This album has enough knowledge that you wouldn't have to go to summer school......It might be too much for an average WU-FAN, but it is a must have for all the diehard fans out there. Much like Bronze's 1st album, this album teachs valuable lessons. It is real hip-hop, not that water down, r&b bulls--t....Great lyrics and beats....and would GZA and Prodigual Son be on a fake album? I don't think so! If you like Killah Priest's albums, and Think Differently, you will like this album

4.0 out of 5 stars Go Bronze!, July 1, 2008
This review is from: Wisemen Approaching (Audio CD)
Yeah, its good. Not quite like The Great Migration. There are some that I skip, but it has the same feel as the latter. Bronze makes it good to listen to. Its amazing how he can make each track sound different from one to the other. Kanye can take a lesson from Bronze.

Fyi: In case you haven't noticed, my comments focus on the sound more than the lyrics. Most Wu members have sharp swords. So it is in my best interest to buy music that I can listen to alot. I am not gonna just buy Wu because of the name brand and not solely based on lyrical content.
I noticed some reviewers that say "I buy everything Wu no matter what". Thats cool, but for me I don't seperate the music part from rap. It's a package. I don't throw my money away like that to have cd's laying around like paper weights.
This album good to get

Man, I was so hyped for this CD. I've been a Bronze Nazareth fan since his superior work on "Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture," and his own solo album. I love his beats and he's decent on the mic. Now fast fowarded to 2007, he recruits his fellow Detroit natives, Keevlar 7, Salute & Phillie to form the Wisemen. These emcees are no slouches, and they can hold their weight. The only problem I have with the album are the beats. Bronze's beats are not as groundbreaking as his previous productions. They are bland to me. But some tracks keep me intrigued such as "Iconoclast" (Killah Priest kills it, very underrated), "Associated", & "Honor's Promise." I was let down by the track with Planet Asia & Prodigal. Now you got two of the most aggressive spitters in the game, but it seems that Planet Asia would of spit better if the beat was more up tempo. And why is Prodigal on the hook or in fact singing? I ain't gonna let these cons outweigh the pros. Add this album to your collection, you will be satisfied.
