Great recording, but this one is not original!, May 31, 2007
This review is from: Wish You Were Here Plus Bonus Album "Early Singles" (Audio CD)
Excellente Album by Pink Floyd, one of the best they ever recorded! Just some few words, this is not an official cd, it has two in one, including early singles from the sixties, I bought it two years ago, but it is simply a Russian fake copy with average quality. Even the cover art is different than the one that appears here, it has the robot handshaking over a black background with the indication " Limited Edition" which I investigated never was done. They copied for the cd the art from the Shine on box,( which was exclusive for it) and put in the disc the music of two cds from that box, that's all. Don't believe what the seller says, he is maybe not aware about this being a copy, but very possibly he is!

Classic Album with Rare Bonus-tracks, February 22, 2009
This review is from: Wish You Were Here Plus Bonus Album "Early Singles" (Audio CD)
"Wish You Were Here" was Pink Floyd's follow-up to their massively successful 1973 album "The Dark Side of the Moon". Obviously it was a hard task to satisfy expectations from fans and critics, and when originally released in 1975. Early reviews were moderate positive, but gradually it became evident that Pink Floyd had created a new classic.
Key tracks are the long 9 parts suite-song "Shine on You Crazy Diamond", which was a tribute to their original front-man Syd Barrett. The song-suite is divided into two seperate tracks and take up about two thirds of thye album's playing time. It's a very atmospeheric number, especially memorable for the great 4 note guitar riff, as well as some great bluesy guitar from Gilmour - and of course the great song with its fine lyrics.
The other key track is the title song which probably is one of the most often covered Pink Floys songs, with it's nice simple melodic structure.
The other two songs are fine too, without have quite the same melodic qualities as the two aforementioned.
This deluxe version features ten early single-tracks as a bonus. The songs make up the complete 5 early singles, with the band's two outstanding ealy hit-singles "Arnold Layne" and "See Emily Play". One more single to feature Syd Barrett was released - "Apples and Oranges" - but though it's fine song, it did not have the same hit-qualities, so it consequently flopped.
The band did not have a big single-hit until 1972 with "Money", but the two 1968 experimental singles "It Would Be So Nice" and "Point Me at the Sky" are both great examples of British psychedelia at its best.
Roger Waters' B-side "Julia Dream" is one of finest songs ever and another great addition to this release - actually all bonus-tracks are great.
N.B. - I just read the other reviews. It never occurred to me that this could be a bootleg. It looks completely authentic to me.
