5.0 out of 5 stars Australian cd of full length remixes.
This cd features the full remixes of the #1 dance track by Angie Stone. The song is built around a sample of The O'Jays "Backstabbers" and has a very retro feel to the song. The cd comes with the Club and Vibe mixes by Hex Hector and Mac Quayle. The club mix(9:54) is very much in tune with Mr. Hector's mixes for Deborah Cox,Tamia and Toni Braxton. DRAMA! 3.0 out of 5 stars The NEO-SOUL Puffy?
I Respect Angie Stone&Her Talent but She is becoming like the Neo-Soul Puffy with all the Covers.this time it's the O'jays Classic"Backstabbers".She has moments with Her Vocals but after a while it's time for a Another Original Song.and the O'Jays Classic is cool as is to me.

DRAMA! It has a trance house feel to the song and works the feelings of being lost/then empowerment of the lyrics to great effect. The Vibe mix (7:55) is disco disco disco. Strings and live guitars and percussion filter this mix to excellent effect. The best use of the sample from "Backstabbers". Best mix on the cd. Then you get the Pound Boys "Bootleg" mix (7:51) that is very good and somewhat similar to the Vibe mix in retro feel. Plus the track "Brotha" is included in it's Spen & Karizma (7:40) mix. More harder and stripped down in sound than the other mixes(like their Basement Boys work) to showcase the song about black empowerment. A great cd from Australia.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Soul Tracks, November 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Wish I Didn't Miss You (Audio CD)
I love this track of Angie Stone's, I wish I Didn't Miss You, I have it already on one of her CD's. I heard the Hex Hector version in the UK but couldn't find it anywhere, I was really pleased when I managed to find it on Amazon.com, delivery was excellent from Surf Entertainments and it arrived in days. I love this CD the Hex Hector dance version is definately the best track on it, but they are all good versions, and I think the fact that I could only get this on Amazon.com proves that the US appreciates good soul much more than the UK. This is a really good CD and would recommend to anyone who appreciates good dance soul music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent EXCELLENT single., May 31, 2004
This review is from: Wish I Didn't Miss You (Audio CD)
There's a reason this was a huge club hit in the US, and a pop hit in Australia. It's an amazing collection of remixes that started from a great original

Highly recommended.
