I am a musicologist by trade, and when I heard this disc my jaw dropped to the floor!!! These five young men seamlessly integrate virtually every important genre of American music into a rich tapestry that is both interesting and unique. If you buy one album this month; heck, this year, buy this one. You will not regret a single moment on this 13 song masterpiece!!!

There isn't a bad song on this cd. Just when I think I heard it all, I haven't. I got this cd a month ago and can't stop playing it. It is the current king of the hill in my cd player. A great mix of bluesy, folksy and everything in between, but very contemporary. This is certainly a breath of fresh air.

If you're reading these reviews, please listen to the samples and check out their website. The Rounder's sound is a great mix of styles. Some similarity to a mix of Cream and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Every song is catchy and upbeat. I only hope they build on this great CD and get some well deserved air play.

This is a great CD!! It crosses many genres of music and is hard to pigeonhole into a category. Some of it has an an electric blues/rock sound, like Let Me Talk at You and Through No Fault of My Own. A lot of the songs are written in minor keys and have a kind of haunting feel to them. Other songs have a little blue grass/truck driving sound. I listened to this CD, put a couple of songs on a playlist, and found myself being drawn back into the whole CD because I couldn't get the tunes out of my mind. The guitar work is solid--including rhythm parts, lead and slide. My Getaway has some really great 2 guitar fretwork on it with two guitars trading and overlapping leads and slide parts. The guitarists out there should love it. I think it is the best song on the CD. The entire CD is well-crafted, well-produced and is a pleasure to listen to. Highly recommended for a broad range of listeners.

I just bought this cd today and I've already listened to it all the way through a handful of times. It reminds me of recent Clutch cds like Robot Hive/Exodus. It bears an even closer resemblance to Clutch's currently unreleased From Beale Street to Oblivion. Clutch is my favorite band and I can't think of a higher compliment of them than to say they remind me of Clutch. It is hardly a carbon copy of Clutch though. It is a very unique effort. It really is an amazing cd. I can't wait to listen to it when I have time to dissect it. I say buy it if you can.
