The title of this book, "Wish Me Well", is taken from Mick Hanly's album of the same name. The song titles on the album are also the chapter titles of this book, and provide the theme for each chapter. In turn, these chapters build to an autobiography of rare sensitivity and skill, chronicling a life blessed by love and talent and blighted by the tyranny of drink and self-doubt. Mick Hanly is unsentimental about himself. This is an honest and clear-eyed man who knows himself, his strengths and his failings alike. He writes of family, of love, of music, of the life he has led and is leading, with the skill of an artist. Each chapter closes with the lyrics from the relevant song. About the Author
Mick Hanly is one of Ireland's best-known singer songwriters and entertainers. He has recorded eleven albums and holds two National Entertainment, and two Hot Press of the Year awards. His song, 'Past the Point of Rescue', won its third major BMI award in the United States, passing the two million radio-plays mark in 2002. He lives in County Kilkenny with his wife and children.
