This is the first Toot & Puddle book I have read, and I am charmed. The characters are lovable and eccentric, depicted in vivid watercolor paintings that are simultaneously funny and gorgeous. The story is delightfully quirky, and, unlike many other books for this target age range, the language is not dumbed down for the reader. I am now a new Toot & Puddle fan - looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I love this book! All of the characters are dynamic and inventive and the cousins in Borneo add a marvelous international twist to the already lovable Woodcock Pocket clan. Holly Hobbie's delightful illustrations of the invincible Opal, faithful Puddle and adventuresome Toot in this exotic setting make this the perfect story book for any young armchair traveler. Fun for Moms and Dads, too! My daughter was so excited that we bought a globe to find Wildest Borneo and fuel her adventure dreams. A winner!

Holly Hobbie is a wonderful writer! All of her books are great, but Wish You Were Here is our favorite. Not only are the illustrations beautifully done, but the story itself is hilarious. Every time my daughters and I read this, I can't help but laugh at the sight of the little pig who has turned blue because he has caught the 'violet virus' (by getting stung by the fierce-banded bush bee.) I can read this over and over without getting tired of it...and that's high praise from a Mom!

I love Holly Hobbies' "Toot and Puddle" books and this one has to be a favorite. My 4 year old laughs so much over the Violet Virus and the Stinky Slimecap Stinkhorns! The artwork is beautiful as always.

My sister was a Kindergarten teacher and told me about Holly Hobbie and her amazing Toot and Puddle books. I started collecting her hardback books for about 10 years now. When I was expecting my second son 6 years ago I decorated his nursery as a "Toot and Puddle" nursery. I have continued to read all her books to my son. The adventures Toot and Puddle go on take you to parts of our beautiful Earth that we may never be able to see in our lives. I love the adventure these books take you on. The love and friendship between the two of them reminds me of friends and family in my own life. Thank you to Holly Hobbie for a great series of books that I will collect as long as they are written!

It is an illustrated book of pigs who love travel. Through conversing with postcards, one can get a glimpse of the different places in the world. Holly's illustrations are tightly rendered and also loose showing the beauty and flexibility of watercolor. It is a book that gives a sense of home and also faraway. It is a charming book, I recommend it to those who loved Charlotte's Web.

We are new to the Toot and Puddle Books, but we have fallen in love with them! Such cute characters and with a lot of adult humor in them too. Highly recommended!

My son got this book a few years ago. I believe he was around 3 when he got it. We've literally read it hundreds of times. He's read it by himself since he was about 4 years old. He loves the book. Toot and Puddle have become those characters that you go back to. They are funny, cute and become endearing. I can honestly say, as a mom of this 5 year old boy, that this is a must have book. It shows excellent examples of what friends are all about. The illustrations are adorable. There are tons of things to talk about in each illustration and larger words to look up the meanings to. A very good book that builds comprehension and begs the parent to teach your child the importance of questions. We love this book!
