Book Description

March 13, 2012
A unique collection of laugh-out-loud tech cartoons about people and their off-center relationships with computers, the internet, social networks, smart phones, e-book readers, gaming devices, gps systems and other amazing technologies, all inspired by real life events.

“Francis has found a way to hack into our collective funny bones and trigger some sort of LOL virus which spreads instantaneously as you share his tech cartoons with your friends (even those imaginary ones you have on Facebook).”
-Joe Wos, Executive Director of the ToonSeum and recovering cartoonist.

About the Author

Francis Cleetus started fiddling with computers at an early age. Years later, he started writing about them as a staff reporter for a tech magazine. Along the way, he switched to writing ads for tech brands at ad agencies like Draft-FCB, J.Walter Thompson and Ogilvy. While he worked as a Creative Director in the US, Hong Kong and India, he doodled on the side. Especially at long meetings. Francis lives with his wife and two daughters in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, and works out of his basement studio. He has created hundreds of tech toons for geek-2-me.com and other publications. He has also conceived award-winning ads for HP, Philips and NEC. But he still hasn't figured out what the F11 key on his laptop is all about. "Beautifully drawn and slyly witty, It's-Geek-2-Me tech toons seem to be peopled with characters born of a liaison between a middle-aged Dilbert and a hot South-Asian techie.” - Anuja Chauhan, Bestselling Author of The Zoya Factor and Battle for Bittora. "In these trying times, filled as they are with economic challenges, Francis makes us laugh at life and the silliness of it all.” - Debra Smit, Innovation Editor Pop City Media.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing's Funnier Than the Truth! April 14, 2012

As a writer I spend many hours on my computer. Sometimes we are in complete harmony clicking along, but other times...Well, Francis Cleetus has done a masterful job of capturing those other times and making me laugh about them. I am forever thankful because there can never be enough laughter in this world, and sometimes we need to be reminded not to take ourselves so seriously. Funny and original... a must read for anyone who has ever touched a keyboard. Congratulations Francis, I can hardly wait for volume 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars One word -- Hilarious!! I loved reading this book. April 20, 2012

I ordered this book on Amazon and read it cover to cover within a day of its arrival. In the past I have occasionally followed It's Geek To Me toons and have loved them (as a matter of fact, my mouse pad is also an It's Geek to Me product). So I was very happy to get my hands on Wish Your Mouth Had A Backspace Key which is a compilation of the IGTM cartoons. The cast of cartoon characters, aptly named with the technological background in mind (e.g. "Linux" Cooper, Emily "Facebrook", "Login"der Singh, etc.) are hilarious. Set in a corporate environment (these characters work for a software corporation) the humor is impeccable. The originality of the corporate and technical situations that these characters go through and the funny punchline they deliver (making you realize the absurdness of what we do in corporations) are guaranteed to make you chuckle every time. Whether you are ahead on the technology curve or totally left behind there is always a situation you can relate to and laugh about. I read this book and laughed so hard on so many of these pages. Even though I have read it completely, even now once in a while I will open a random page and read a few more of the strips and laugh. This book can also make a great gift. Of course don't forget to read this yourself first and have a good laugh. The 100 or so pages are an easy read and you will be laughing just like me, guaranteed!! I highly recommend this book. Witty, witty, witty!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book in a New Niche March 30, 2012
Francis Cleetus' cartoons are like the Dilbert for the 21st century, reflecting the ecclectic nature of the work environment. His characters remind me of so many people I've worked with! It's like he was in my office. Lots of fun and already can't wait for his next book.
