JUST AS GOOD AS HIS LAST CHRISTMAS ALBUM. FULL OF WONDERFUL INSTRUMENTALS AND, OF COURSE, THE BEST TRACK OF ALL-THE LAST ONE. IF YOU LOVED HIS AULD LANG SYNE(MILLENIUM MIX), BE PREPARED TO LOVE HIS NEW MIX. JUST AS GOOD AS THE OLD, BUT UPDATED WITH THE LATEST NEWS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. SOME AUDIO WILL MAKE YOU SMILE, WHILE OTHERS BRING A TEAR TO THE EYE.

Excellent recording...the last track, Auld Lang Syne(Freedom Mix), is so moving...wait till you hear it! This song should get massive radio play during this difficult time in the northeast.

Mildly disappointing,

This Kenny G holiday CD is not up to his normal high standards. First of all, there is only 38 minutes of music on this one, including an unnecessary rehash of Auld Lang Syne. Some holiday songs, like Deck the Halls and Frosty the Snowman, aren't meant to be jazzed up. This CD feels like a "I don't have much new material to put on a new holiday CD, but my contract says I have to" CD. Nonetheless, I still remain a big fan of Kenny G.

A Joy to Listen To,

I really enjoy this album. It contains a terrific combination of slightly contemporary and tradional arrrangements. Its sound is uniformly upbeat and celebratory. And Kenny G. is at the top of his game, as his playing weaves a beautiful seemless tapestry within each song. Buy it--you will be glad you did!

The Holiday Magic Continues,

I'm a huge fan of Kenny G. I fell in love with his music when "Songbird" first hit the airwaves in the 80's. I can't say that he's ever recorded a bad song or CD. But there are some that I like better than others. This is one of them. To go one better, I found this for sale in the internet from a used CD shop less than a month after it came out! To go one better, it was less than $$$ and in brand new condition! That in itself was excellent! I have Kenny G's other 2 holiday CD's. While I love all 3 of them, this is the best by far. 7 of the songs of this disc are what people refer to as religious holiday music. Don't get me wrong. I love holiday music, whether spiritual or secular. But my preference is for the sacred. My favorites on this disc are "Oh Holy Night," "Joy To The World," and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen." Kenny G adds his own unmistakeable smooth style as he does the rest of his music. I do have 2 complaints about this CD. First, the last song on it is "Auld Lang Syne, The Freedom Mix." It has some of the same stuff from the 20th Century that's included in "Auld Lang Syne, The New Millennium Mix" on his last holiday collection. The only difference is that he added a few extra historic items that happened since 1999. My other complaint is that this collection is only 38 minutes long. I think Kenny G could have lengthen it a bit. But these 2 complaints are minor. It's still an excellent holiday collection. Once again, hats off to Kenny G!

3 strikes and he is definitely not out,

His third holiday/Christmas album is great. It has at the end, the Freedom Mix of "Auld Lang Syne" which sends chills up my spine as President Bush comforts the American people after the situation in 2001 with Kenny G playing the song. It is a wonderful album, but the last song can be a little depressing. The album is as good as the other two of Kenny G's. They are all albums to add to Christmas music collections around the world.

How Inappropriate!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Wishes: A Holiday Album (Audio CD)
While most of this CD is typical Kenny G, the final song, Auld Lang Syne (Freedom Mix), is one of the most inappropriate songs that I have ever heard on a Christmas Album. Please tell me why, after listening to some beautiful Christmas jazz music, I would want to expose my family or friends to sound clips of Ellen DeGeneres stating her sexual preference, or an ex-president of the United States claiming "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Kenny G is certainly a talented musician, but I have lost a lot of respect for him with his choice of sound clips selected for this Christmas CD. I will not recommend this CD to my friends.

Some things are better left alone...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Wishes: A Holiday Album (Audio CD)
While I'm sure the rest of the album is great, I have to dissagree with the last reviewer. I just heard the re-vamped version of Auld Lang Syne on the radio and I was very disappointed. The original version released in 1999 (Millenium Mix), on his Faith album, was perfect the way it was. The new version sounds sloppy, with the original sound bites rushed or chopped just to add in new sound bites from 9/11. It reminds me of Ted Turner trying to colorizing classic black & white films like Casablanca. Since Kenny didn't have to actually re-record his background rendition of Auld Lang Syne, it seems like his record label is just trying to exploit and cash in on post 9/11 emotions. It's too bad, because I really enjoy his music. Some things are just better left alone.

This is an excellent CD. It is great for playing in the background while entertaining for the holidays. It is also very relaxing when you want to unwind from a busy day.
