I just wanna say Martine is a amazing lady, she has went from the country's best tv star in Eastenders to the country's top solo singing star. I love wishing, its got some sweet ballads aswell as power pop tunes, so you get a good mix in it. I prefer it to her first album which wasn't as good in my opinion all though i like Perfect Moment. My fave songs on wishing are Im over you, On the radio and You mean the world to me, but all are fantastic. I hope Martine continues to maake more great albums in the future!

I've Been Wishin',

Martine McCutcheon couldn't exactly be called a superstar really. Despite being a soap star, pop singer, and stage actress, she's really never made a dent on the world. She has however, made a dent on me, and made me a fan. Her voice has a sweet softness to it that appeals to me, and she's chosen some great material for this, her second album. The opening cut is strong, one of the better pop singles from the year 2000, "I'm Over You". The song made it to the number two when released in Britain, blocked only by the Spice Girls comeback single "Holler." She pulled another single off in early 2001, with her take on the Donna Summer classic "On The Radio", another British chart success, she failed to follow it up sadly, and took a break from the charts following that songs release. This was a poor choice in my opinion, because this album has some incredibly good pop tracks that were just waiting for a release. My personal favorite cut is the funky pop stomper "Tonight", which is of a like mind with the end track "Everbody". Both a fine examples of disco pop. Other good tracks go from smooth ballads ("Love Changes Nothing", "You Mean The World To Me", and "What You See Is What You Get") to mellow pop numbers ("Teardrops", "Wishing", and "Together We Are Beautiful"). This whole album was pulled off with alot of class, yet remains a fun listen. She's a good vocalist, and I would love a comeback to pop of sorts, but even if she never does another album, she'll always have this lovely pop nugget. Good stuff.

Soap Songstress On Top Form,

Martine McCutcheon has returned from her debut album with yet another great album that has silenced critics who said that she would make it big. Wishing contains the UK hit singles On The Radio and Over You and other great tracks like You Mean The world To Me, Everybody and Teardrops. Martine has a voice that should be appreciated so i would recommend that this album should be listened to by everyone
