I am a huge fan of this song, especially the original version by "rolls royce" and was not sure how Beyonce would approach the song. I thought she might try to glam it up to make it a bit more contemporary. Much to my delight she did not.
The song is simply sung, with restraint (she does have some powerful pipes), and I find it lovely and beautiful. It is nothing truly special, hence four stars, but she does do it softly, simply, and sensationally...evoking all of my wonderful memories and feelings of the orignal : )

Beyonce sparkles in this cover of "Wishing on a Star". Although slower, with a a softer beat than the original, her breathy, sexy vocals make it even better. Like a nice little musical meringue, it's light, fluffy, and delicious.
