Most Humorous of Series,
By micbeeb (Austin, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wishing Stone (Spooksville, Book 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
When Christopher Pike first began the Spooksville series I was disappointed that he would write something so much like the Goosebumps series. However, Spooksville has turned out to be some of Pike's most light hearted and witty writing. The Wishing Stone is my favorite book in the series. I love how the "resourceful" pre-teens always manage to get themselves into and out of trouble. Sally's scenes with the alligator alien always send me into a fit of giggles. Read this book! My only hope is that Pike will continue with this series!

Another Great Read,

In this particular book, the kids find a wishing stone and for every wish they make there is an unforseen price tag attached. The entire series is great and the characters are delightful.

This review is from: The Wishing Stone (Spooksville, Book 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is a very good book for young readers. It is about 4 kids that find a stone while walking in a wood one day and whenever they ask for someting with the stone in their hand, it immediately appears in front of them. But there is a catch, they must pay off their wishes by slaving away on a planet far away. The two girls are taken away but the boys manage to survive and go on a long and tiring misson to go and save the girls from the slave planet.I would rate this book four stars as it is a good read and keeps the suspense up.

While hiking in the woods, Adam and his friends find an old stone. It is clear like a cyrstal ball a fortuneteller uses.To their imense surprise, if they hodl and make a wish, it can come true. They call it the Wishing Stone. They love it very much. Until they discover that there is a heavy price for each wish!
