Witch Moon Rising, Witch Moon Waning: Two Novels of Ethics, Faith, and Enduring Love Plus 40 Spells, Charms, Rituals

Authors: Maggie Shayne Lorna Tedder Trade Paperback, 6x9, 224 pages Publisher: Spilled Candy Publications Publish Price: $13.95 ISBN 978-1-892718-33-4

Maggie Shayne and Lorna Tedder's Witch Moon Rising, Witch Moon Waning comes full circle!

First published in 2001, this hard-to-find book is back in trade paperback, this time with a bonus of over 40 spells, rituals, and charms for prosperity, weight loss, rejuvenation, and protection--all from Maggie and Lorna's personal stash of magick.

In Witch Moon Rising, Maggie Shayne invokes a new love for Mirabella, a school teacher who's also a practicing witch. But her efforts to help his teenage daughter spell trouble--the kind that gets her fired and involved in murder and mayhem. In Witch Moon Waning, Lorna Tedder conjures a darker look at magick and its intentional misuse by a novice witch, her High Priestess mother, and a time-traveler with a secret agenda. More than anything, Lydia wishes her lover could understand her, and eventually she performs a Full Moon ritual to make him understand her strange visions. As they say, Be careful what you wish for....

Witch Moon Waning is the prequel to Lorna Tedder's Access.

More About the Author

New York Times Bestselling author Maggie Shayne has published 53 novels, all for major NY Publishers, in her 18 year career. So far. In 2012 she'll be releasing a brand new trilogy dubbed "The Portal" and its books will include MARK OF THE WITCH in October 2012, DAUGHTER OF THE SPELL CASTER in December 2012, and BLOOD OF THE SORCERESS in February 2013, all for MIRA Books.

Maggie has published westerns, category romances, romantic suspense, paranormal romances, urban fantasy, women's fiction, and just about everything in between, and is currently working on her first thriller. She's a winner of the RITA Award, the romance fiction industry's most prestigious prize, and has won countless others.

Maggie's "Twilight" series of vampire novels, officially known as Wings in the Night, began in 1993 with a TWILIGHT PHANTASIES from Silhouette Shadows. The series only just concluded with TWILIGHT FULFILLED in October 2011. (Printable list and reading order at the author's website and on her Facebook page.)

Besides being an author, Maggie is a Wiccan High Priestess, Reiki healer, Tarot Card Reader, unofficial Life Coach, Law of Attraction expert, advice columnist, and a licensed minister. Her long running newspaper advice column has just now been compiled into book form; SHAYNE ON YOU, the author's first non-fiction book.

Recently, Maggie has begun re-releasing her out of print novels in ebook format. So far these include FAIRYTALE, FOREVER ENCHANTED and ANNIE'S HERO, fantasy-romances she wrote for Avon Books (Harper Collins) in the early 1990's, and a novella WITCH MOON RISING, originally published by Spilled Candy Books.

There will be much more to come.

Of course Maggie's publishers also release E-versions of her works, and it's difficult for the average reader to tell whether an ebook is released by a publisher, or the author herself. Especially books that were previously published by a NY Publishing House. Just look for the "Publisher" listing in the book's information and you'll see what's what. The prices are usually a little bit lower on the books Maggie releases herself.

Maggie lives with her soulmate Lance in a tiny town called Taylor (phone exchange: Truxton, mailing address: Cincinnatus, tax map: Cuyler. Smalltown folks understand!) in New York State's little known but sprawling and gorgeous dairy farm & wine country near the Fingerlakes region. Together they have a pair of Old English Mastiffs (Dozer & Daisy,) a chubby little bulldog (Niblet), an arrogant cat (Glorificus,) a saltwater reef aquarium with two clown fish (Larry & Cill) and two damsels (Vinnie & Blue,) a bearded dragon (Captain Yellow Beard) and a life of utter contentment and joy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enlighted Reader!!!, October 17, 2001

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book. The stories spirtual and romantic. I believe they will appeal to both pagans and non-pagans alike. Being a non-pagan, (actually a Catholic), I found the book to be informative and entertaining. Both Ms. Shayne and Ms. Tedder did a remarkable job and I recommend it highly.

While you are at Amazon check out Maggie Shayne's Witch Series and Lorna Tedder's Access. They are excellent reads.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two OUTSTANDING novels in one book, May 14, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Witch Moon Rising, Witch Moon Waning: Two Novels (Paperback)
I like both of these authors, but two in one book was more than I could ever ask for! I laughed and cried my way through both stories and was so, so, so, so, very much impressed with how the ethics of the Wiccan religion played a part in the heroines' lives. These books have everything I like: wicca, romance, mystery, and paranormal elements. I can't wait for sequels!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bought it for 1 of the authors and enjoyed both, August 25, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Witch Moon Rising, Witch Moon Waning: Two Novels (Paperback)
I purchased this book after reading Ms. Tedder's Access and wanting to know more about Lydia's past. I was not disappointed. I have always enjoyed movies and books with time travel in them. I will admit that I did not know much about Wiccans until now. I also was very pleased with my discovery of Ms. Shayne's work. I don't normally read romance novels but would be interested in reading more of her work. As long as the story is as good as this one, I don't mind the romance. Thank you, ladies, for two excellent reads and for educating me on Wiccan belief.
