These stories show their age, but are well written and mildly horrific in a staid Victorian way. If you like Saki or M. R. James then you should enjoy these stories ( a novella and several short stories including a horror classic, "The Upper Berth").

I LOVE ghost stories and this series from Wordsworth is one of my favorite finds on Amazon. That said, don't start with Witch of Prague, unless you are seeking a cure for insomnia. Crawford is tremendous, but the Witch is slow and bizarre. One character is a fat albino kept asleep by two witches, who wake him occasionally to predict the future. . . Except they cheat...

Except they cheat each other on the deal. possibly this would be good movie by David Lynch. Are you out there, David???
