This volume is pretty cool, collecting dozens of Witchblade issues in a single volume. The artwork is more diversified (and for the most part better) than vol 1, and the story begins to pick up speed a little bit. The only thing that irked me a little bit was the way that nearly every issue begins with a page or two of "I'm Sarah Pezzini, New York homicide detective. My world is really weird because I have this glove." It starts to feel like they're looking for page-fills from time to time, but if you enjoy Witchblade for story or artwork, this is a lot of material for a reasonable price.

Note: the binding sucks. The book is too heavy and cumbersome to hold comfortably, and you'll want to lay it on a table and hold it to reduce stress on the spine. The pages are not well glued to the spine, and it sometimes feels like the whole cover is going to slip off, though individual pages shouldn't fly free on you.

Containting issues 51-100 or the breakout comic series, this is a great way to complete your collection and fill in any gaps you may have.

Along with Volume 1, this gets you almost up to date!

the Witchblade Compendium is definitely one of the best books ever put together. It probably has one of the most richest and deepest storylines in any modern comic book series. I can't wait for "Witchblade Compendium vol. 3."

I really want to like this book, seriously, but it was way to inconsistent, and way to simplistic for most of the 50 issues.

For one i do not buy a comic book just because it has skimpy outfitted women half naked, and sometimes way to overdrawn boobies. The first 30 issues were difficult to get through only because they were mostly terrible and so simple that only a kid that's easily entertained could enjoy. The main character Sara Pazzni is just mopey and confused, and spends most the time asking what the witchblade is. Some of the stories don't finish, due to how the publisher set it up, some stories continue in other books which are not included in this collection. Also some of the characters are rather cheesy, the writers were still trying to use cliche Italian mobsters or other cliche mobsters in the book that make it boring to read. Any of the characters worth any interest are badly developed, and go away quickly.

The only thing that made this book worth not just chucking at someone i didn't like, was the last 20 issues, written by ron marz, really he is the only thing that's given this title some intelligence/future. Unfortunately you are pretty much frustrated at this point after reading 30 crappy to barely readable issues, not enough to redeem it.

Bottom line, the only thing worth while in the book is the 20 issues by ron marz, and even that is just "ok", if you picked up the first compendium (i didn't) and really liked it, then go ahead and pick this up, you'll enjoy it. If you want an intelligent or more entertaining book, look elsewhere. Its awesome that they tried to put 50 issues into one big hardcover, and yes the binding isn't all that, but 50 issues in one book is not bad. (if most the issues were worth it)
