Good way to catch up on the series, although a few Darkness issues were not included though they were included in the smaller compilations. This leads to some gaps in the story. Some other "side" issues weren't included like the Wolverine crossover one (one issue ends with a pic of W. in the distance). Also the book is heavy and what-not... but I'm very happy that it's all in color. I was very surprised that it was so. I expected it to be in black and white.
I also have a gripe about the pages... If only they left a little extra section so the middle was more readable.

Witchblade Compendium - Quality book,
This review is from: Witchblade Compendium Volume I (Paperback)
I bought this with the idea of reading 50 issues of stories at one sitting. This was a monthly book that had lots of history, and was hard to get into. This volume is a great way to catch up on the story, and read the history of the Witchblade. With a 2nd volume coming later in the year, I can catch up on the whole series.
The book itself is quite bulky, and there are several double-page spreads that are hard to read with the binding. But it is put together properly, and doesn't show signs of falling apart due to reading. Great value!!

Great way to catch up on back issues,

This is a great collection, which is so packed with comics it will be one of the thickest tombs in your library. I've followed the series intermittently through the years, and this is an awesome way to catch up on what I missed. With comics costing $3 each these days, it's a great value. Marvel has been putting up digital versions of their back issues, which I enjoy, but there's something satisfying to have this thick book in your hands.

the Witchblade Compendium is definitely one of the best books ever put together. It probably has one of the most richest and deepest storylines in any modern comic book series. I can't wait for "Witchblade Compendium vol. 3."

I received this one for Xmas along with the Darkness compendium. Both are very very big and heavy books! So yes, you have to take extra care so you don't wreck them when you read them (I am very careful with my books!), but it is totally worth. Really good quality paper also.
Then, for the plot, it is not super intellectual as you can guess, but it is a very entertaining story and the drawing style is great too! Do not hesitate!

I love Witchblade. I got into it when I was 13 (12 years ago) and learned to draw by copying Michael Turner's work. The story was awesome, the art was amazing.. I've since lost all of my original comics in my junky garage, so the compendium is a nice way to re-read a great, engaging story, full of action, mystery, and excitement. Well worth the money for the amount of issues you get, if your only concern is reading the story and looking at the art work - not collecting. It's heavy and very thick, so it's not something you can carry around with you. Any fan of the comic should add this to their collection as a way to re-experience the good ol' days and not have to bring out your box of comics. :) Also good for newcomers needing back issues; way cheaper.

I've long been reading the Darkness, and for just as long have known I should be reading Witchblade too... but I always put it off. But with the new developements in the story I just can't ignore the other half any longer. At first I was worried about trying to catch up. The Witchblade has been going on for a bit longer then Darkness and I was sure I'd NEVER hunt down all the back issues.
This book was a WONDERFUL thing to find. It's a little daunting to read, being about 7lbs. But it saved me a lot of time and a lot of money from trying to hunt down the individual issues! Volume one collectes issues 1-50, which I knew would be hard to track down and potientaly pretty pricey! At my regular comic shop 50 issues at the standard 2.99 a book would have set me back nearly 150$! But this costs only a third of that! I definatly recomend this to anyone looking to start reading the Witchblade! Go ahead and pick up Vol. 2 an you're only about 30 short of being caught up to the current issue! Saves time, and money... just don't expect the ease of single issues. I ordered Volumes one an two together an they weigh in right at 15lbs! Be prepared for some heavy reading!

I'm only placing this review because I love the books so much. Not even the storyline, the artwork is my main focus.
Just got this and The Darkness Compendium delivered. I may as well have gotten these used, because the UPS guy just literally threw my package on the ground by my door. Nothing excuses this, ever. Both of my really nice, new books have WRECKED corners. The binding is now damaged and the top left corners of both of the new books are wrinkled, like someone treated it like crap. I can't opt to keep these in new condition, now, as they're permanently damaged. Thanks a lot, UPS shipping. Just because it feels solid doesn't mean it's indestructible. Two expensive books damaged upon arrival/in shipping. Other than that, fantastic product. Much more preferable to getting a copy of each and every comic released. The only other problem is the choice of binding. While cheap(to cut down on costs, which is an admirable goal) the binding kind of keeps the center of the images a little hidden from view. To really get a good look at the two-pagers, you have to stress the binding, which will eventually damage the spine and cause pages to fall out. Oh well.

Nothing more captivating...,

than a character drawn by Micheal Turner. He was an absolute god in comics and his life ended too soon from cancer. If you missed Witchblade then this is something that will get you caught up in a hurry. You have only to skim the pictures to understand the story. The colors are awesome and bring the characters off the page.

It is a very good book, the only problem was that some of the pages was stuck together at the top, and I had to use my scissor to spit them apart. One more if they ever do a movie on the witchblade series, I hope they don't cast Jennfer lopez or Eva Mendes. I hope they get someone more flexible.
