The Descent of Madness!
The brutal, bloodied path of the Witchblade and the calculated cruelty of corporate cutthroat make for desperate bedfellows, with sides being chosen even as the final battle approaches. Poor Masane, current bearer of the blade, is the unwilling ground zero for the swelling chaos that approaches. And those dearest to the destined are in the greatest danger of all. As leaders rise and leaders fall, alliances shift and tumble, the lust for complete control of historys weapon, for the power promised, surge and pulse through the veins of all that have been touched by the Witchblade.
Witchblade Volume Five-5 contains episodes 17-20: Confusion, Feelings, Turn and Request.
As the fan-service fantasy Witchblade
continues, the plots and counterplots multiply. The unctuous Wadou schemes to unseat Takayama at Douji Industries. Wadou pursues the "Ultimate Blade" experiments, creating a weapon that either sex can employ. But when his secretary uses it to attack Masane, she cleans the hapless flunky's digital clock. Maria, the leader of "Neo-Genes," suddenly decides to seize control of Douji Industries herself. How and why she went from an undisciplined, infantile killer to a disciplined, mature killer isn't really explained, but the unsavory genetic experiments that produced her clearly aren't paying off the way they were supposed to. Between fracases, the filmmakers pad the episodes with bonding moments involving Masane, Riho, and Takayama. Although the plot stumbles along like Masane after a binge, there's plenty of violence and bare skin to service the fans.
