This review is from: Witchcraft in Old and New England (Paperback)
Although I am not a scholar in the subject, I can say as a seriously invested follower (on my own time) that this book is an excellent text. It is loaded with fascinating details, accounts (True or false), and anecdotes that have real and deep resonance with modern minds. Talk of sacrifices at crossroads, the enclosure of live spiders in the hollows of ash trees to cure whooping cough, the sailors' superstition of 'whistling for a wind' to give them good voyages, and much more are all included. Great stuff, huge book, definitely worth checking out.
