A great anthology,
By Kurt A. Johnson (North-Central Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (TOP 100 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Witches (Isaac Asimov's Magical Worlds of Fantasy #2) (Paperback)
Among the many works credited to the great Isaac Asimov (1920-92) are a series of "Isaac Asimov's Magical Worlds of Fantasy" books. Each one is an anthology of excellent short stories. Isaac Asimov's Magical Worlds of Fantasy #2 is about witches, and contains fourteen stories by fourteen great authors. Among the authors featured are A.E. van Vogt, Poul Anderson, Andre Norton, Madeleine L'Engle, and even H. Rider Haggard.
That's right, this is fourteen great stories by fourteen great authors. My favorite were probably Wizard's World by Andre Norton, The Ipswich Phial by Randall Garrett, and Black Heart And White Heart by H. Rider Haggard. But, they are all good. So, as you can tell by the outpouring of superlatives, I found this to be a great anthology, and I highly recommend it to everyone! |
