Relying on the tacky front cover alone, I probably wouldn't have bought this CD. However, the following tracks on here make this CD partly worth owning: #1 ("Graveyard Junky"); #2 (Bach's "Organ Toccata in D Minor"); #4 ("Huntdown"), heartbeats, strings, horns, and piano--very effective; #7 ("The Haunted Palace: A Tale by Edgar Allan Poe"), beautiful choir music playing in the background while poem is being read; #9 ("Witches Procession"), a slow, peaceful instrumental track; and #10 ("Theme from The Munsters").

Unlike some of the other Halloween CDs by this label, there are actually a few tracks on here with just sound effects and little or no background music, such as #3 ("Sound FX 1: Laugh Fest"--"menacing" laughter), #6 ("Sound FX 2: Ghosts Galore"--ghosts moaning, haunted whispering), and #8 ("Sound FX 3: Terror"--snoring, or maybe it's just heavy breathing, a woman screaming repeatedly, and a man pleading for his life). All of these three tracks, however, fall under my "dud" list for this CD, joining track #5 ("Swamp Monster"), a terribly cheesy song with a blues/jazzy feel and vocals that chant the title over a few times.

Thankfully this CD is just 30-odd minutes long. Although I enjoyed several of the tracks on here, this isn't a CD I'd necessarily recommend unless you're a relatively avid Halloween fan like I am and will collect almost anything related to this holiday. Otherwise, you might want to keep looking.
