Nigel Jackson, born in 1963, lives in Manchester, England and is a well-known artist and illustrator specializing in the symbolism of Western Esoteric Tradition: he is deeply immersed in the traditional Tarot of 15th century Italy, the magical teachings of medieval-renaissance astrological magicians such as Ficino, Agrippa and Bruno and in bringing to life the talismanic images inherited from ancient sources of arcane lore such as the Arabian grimoire The Picatrix. He has worked intensively in researching the magical system of the 28 Mansions of the Moon. Nigel has been involved for the last quarter of a century in pursuing the inner wisdom of the hermetic mysteries and in expressing the symbolic 'language of the gods' through his visual art which he views as a living  'alchemy of the imagination'.

5.0 out of 5 stars TRANSFORMATIONAL!, November 14, 1999

I am so, so infatuated with this set. I had attempted to read runes before, using a plain clay set, and had a great deal of trouble trying to acertain meanings from the lines alone. These beautiful cards work like the Tarot or Cartouche, unveiling the meanings through the symbolism and art to better understand the energies of each rune. The accompanying handbook is a gem, with background information on the Norse religion (including a great introduction to the Norse pantheon), information on each rune (symbolism, oracular meanings, and magickal workings), and some very good rituals, including one of the best circle-casting methods i've ever heard of. I highly reccomend this set to magickal people, or people just wanting to bring the power of the runes into their lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars good info on magical uses of the runes as well as divination, October 28, 1999
This review is from: Witches Runes: Insights from the Old European Magickal Traditions (Cards)
I really enjoy the witches runes. The guidebook is packed full of information on divination, history and magical uses for the runes. Good meditations and rituals too. I also recommend reading "Northern Mysteries and Magick" by Freya Aswynn(formerly "Leaves of Yggdrasil"). The runes are a wonderful way to explore the "mysteries", and incorporate an ancient system of knowledge into your life. This system has much to offer the modern practitioner! Blessed Be

This is the one deck no one else gets to touch! It has absorbed my vibes beautifully and the answers I get are right on target! It took a bit of time to get used to the artwork but I love it! The interpretations and correspondences are helpful and easily understood. A definite asset to my collection of tools!!
