In Witchfire we see a tale of corporate intrigue, witchcraft, unexpected love and a classic old world struggle of good vs. evil. This time out, the struggle focuses on a brother and sister who find themselves locked in a lifelong battle as they walk two very different paths. One has gone the way of light practicing magic for the good of all while the other has found a much darker way. The tale of love centers on the stories heroes, one a white witch (Morgan Rein) and the other a steel jawed, leather clad scientist (Dancer McCoy).

Separated at a young age, Mogran and her brother Lucien have led very different lives and honed very different powers. Witchfire tells the tale of these two coming back together and settling longstanding family issues.

Within the novel, authors Ardath Mayhar and Ron Fortier weave a rich story filled with history and a detailed back-story giving you a great look at the principal characters and their past relationships. The back-story proves almost as intriguing as the main tale. Also, I particularly enjoyed the art of Rob Davis which is interspersed throughout the book.

If you enjoy a tale of adventure... If you enjoy your novels steeped in a classic, old world struggle of good vs. evil... If you like your leading men rock solid... If you like your leading women strong and in charge of the situation and their lives... You will enjoy Wtichfire. I know I did.

Telling the story of magic and action, Witchfire combines adventure and danger with humor and romance in a new and fascinating way. A devote catholic, Morgan Rein also practices white magic. The perceived dichotomy of these two paths is challenged with this idea, and examines traditional thought on both sides of the coin without being preachy.

Morgan is born with capabilities beyond the ken of average humans. After the death of her parents, she is adopted by a kind woman and practitioner of magical arts who raises Morgan as her own. Morgan's natural but unusual skills are honed until she can practice her inborn arcane abilities. She uses these innate abilities to help those in need, including her services as an investigator.

In her adult years, she discovers her powerful-but-misguided brother Lucien returned from her past intent on Morgan's destruction. Morgan finds an ally in Dancer, a man of science who starts out skeptical of magic's existence. He soon finds out differently. Attraction and tension exists between Morgan and Dancer, with slight allusions to the same between her and her brother Lucien.

Aided by friends, Morgan and Dancer face off with Lucien when he attempts to control a construction company called CCI, which would increase his power and danger to the world. Is Lucien too strong for Morgan? There are no spoilers in this review, so this reviewer will not tell.

Veteran writers Ron Fortier and Ardath Mayhar create a harrowing adventure with this book, enhanced by the skillful artwork of veteran artist Rob Davis. Witchfire is an enjoyable and intriguing story, and a great read. The team has worked their magic to bring an excellent tale to the reader.

Ardath Mayhar's and Ron Fortier's collaborative effort WITCHFIRE provides an interesting and original blend of magic and high finance. The end result is a captivating adventure that is sure to satisfy.

There's action, intrigue, romance and more magic than you can shake a wand at! Morgan Rein is a capable, memorable heroine this reader hopes he hasn't seen the last of. Her team up with Dr. McCoy (no, not that one) and budding relationship lies at the heart of the story and it's a pleasure to watch them draw closer together.

There's action galore. The pacing is excellent. Through flashbacks, which carry the story forward not bog it down, we are given a rich tapestry of Rein and the quiet world of magic to backdrop the breathless action sequences.

The villain, Rein's brother, is as darkly evil as any reader could hope for. His goals are simple: expanding his range of powers and destroying Morgan Rein.

As a whole, this is a fine read suitable for teens, men and women. There's something for everyone here. Mayhar and Fortier have crafted a winner. You'll want to fall under its spell.

Ardath Mayhar and Ron Fortier offer one amazing book to feed your entertainment hunger. The art of Rob Davis adds a tasty, thick icing to this cake. If I had more than two thumbs, they would be up as well.
