1.0 out of 5 stars The Whating Hour?
Huh? I've been reading comics for over 20 years. Love Jeph Loeb. But this is the first ever graphic novel I couldn't get through. Tried twice. Thoroughly confusing. Amazingly disjointed. Absolutely a waste of time and money. File this one under "Doesn't make any sense and impossible to follow so it must be a masterpiece."

5.0 out of 5 stars a great book, January 5, 2001
This review is from: The Witching Hour (Hardcover)
Chris bachalo is one of my favorite comic pencilers, and this book has a great story that goes around Magic, witches, modern day youth, crimes and psychology. The story evolves around a bunch of interesting characters, among them is a witch that has lived for hundreds of years but remains young and lives among ordinary people unnoticed, but with a few mental conflicts. her friends are also mystical characters that have all distinctive personalities, and they all have activities that change peoples lives.I wont reveal anymore, you should check it out yourself. the story is very well written, mature and complex and keeps you reading. the artwork is eye catching and its very enjoyable. I recommend this one for its great art and story, you have good material here, one of my faves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Favorite, May 4, 2009
This review is from: The Witching Hour (Paperback)
This comic is my absolute favorite. It is totally underrated in my opinion, and one of the comic industries most brilliant hidden gems. Jeph Loeb and Chris Bachalo have created a masterpiece here. I'll admit the first time I read it, I really had to push myself to finish it, but once I got half way through the third and final issue (I read it before the trade was out) I was thrilled, and could not put it down. This comic takes a little work to read, but is well worth the time and effort. The Witching Hour is one of my comics that I LOVE to read and reread. Each time I catch more of the details and subtleties that both Loeb and Bachalo contributed to this great work.

If your are going to read it, and I strongly suggest you do, finish it. You will be rewarded.
