Book Description

Witch’s Soulmate is the first book of the Living Energy Trilogy. Throughout history, the women who guard Earth’s living energy have been known as goddesses, fairies, mermaids, and alchemists, but they prefer to call themselves witches.

Jade is a young witch scarred by the murder of her parents and determined to evade her soulmate and never fall in love. Unfortunately, falling in love is not up to her, or Peter - the human whose life-energy is identical to hers. The soulmate is the missing key to unlock the witch’s power and Arrow, a powerful organization whose only intent is to kill the soulmates and keep the witches in check, is ready to do whatever it takes to destroy their connection.

After a chance encounter, Jade and Peter are swept in a battle that takes them to Europe and Brazil in hopes to uncover a secret that will decide the very fate of their love - and their lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun and start to a new PNR series! November 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
★★★★1/2: WITCH'S SOULMATE took me by surprise--in the best possible way. I definitely recommend that PNR/UF lovers give this book a try. Unusually dialogue-driven, it is a highly enjoyable story which offers various myths and legends (such as the sacred feminine) as the possible origins of witches and their soulmates while taking the reader from San Diego to Europe to South America.

Being a little *cough* older, I admit that I was a bit hesitant when I first learned the age of the main characters (Jade is 21 and Peter is 24). However, after reading only the first page (um, screen) of Chapter 1, I remember thinking "this could be good..." and quickly forgot about age. The story took off as soon as Jade accidentally runs into her soulmate--whom she had hoped to never meet. (And boo me all you want, but I rather liked that she hadn't "saved herself" in the interim.)

Being soulmates, there is instant attraction/love between Jade (who, of course, understands) and Peter (who is at first confused but quickly brought up to speed). But the insta-love is transformed into something more solid and believable by the story's end because over the ensuing months hiding from Arrow hunters while seeking a possible solution, Jade and Peter have the time to get to know each other and resolve any doubts about the "realness" of their metaphysical attraction. And as another reviewer mentioned, Peter also had to adjust to being the "weakest link".

The first person POV of Jade and Peter (alternating by chapters) was very effective; it drew me into the story right from the beginning and maintained a sense of immediacy as the story unfolded.

4.0 out of 5 stars Witch's Soulmate July 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
An engrossing story of magical proportions that did not allow me to remove my eyes from its pages for even one second! So much mystery, excitement, magic and love. A great read for any fans of the genre.

Jade never wants to find her soul mate. There's too much involved in keeping sane and safe once one meets their mate. Now as long as she can avoid ever meeting him. She'll be A-ok, or will she?

Pete is just an ordinary (albeit handsome) human being that fills his days with his work as a detective for the FBI. When he lays his eyes on Jade. Let's just say human is the last thing he feels ;)

Together the two form the truest most powerful magic of all. So pure and so very real. A perfect match!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well defined characters and great action. April 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I found much to enjoy in this urban fantasy/romance. The two MCs, Jade and Peter, are fully rounded characters and, despite being irresistibly bound as soulmates, are also distinctly separate entities. With a premise such as this, the temptation would be to make Jade and Peter two halves of the same nature, but Ms Cohen cleverly resists, to the benefit of the novel. The well defined characters are one of the book's strengths, as is the entirely credible dialogue. I also enjoyed Ms Cohen's twist on the nature of gods and goddesses. An absorbing and entertaining read, one which also contains some great action and some slightly erotic scenes.
I received an uncorrected galley for review but even so, I was impressed by the flow of the writing and cleanliness of the text. I would recommend this book to urban fantasy fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Action Packed & Fast Paced November 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Title: Witch's Soulmate
Author: Dense Cohen
Format: 118 PDF pgs
Genre: Urban Romance Fantasy Mature YA

The story grabbed my attention right away and the next thing I knew I was 1/3 done. Its action packed and fast paced. I would have like for the story to have been longer but there is always the next book in the series. The story covers a lot being that it's only 118 pgs. I didn't find a dull moment anywhere and for being the first book in the series it was not bogged down with all the intro info / history that at times is required to understand the powers the characters posses.
Jade lost her parents at a young age and at 21 she meets her soul mate. Something she promised herself that she was never going to do, because of what her parents went through. Peter saw her in a cafe and he didn't have a chance, he was hooked. Jade is a little promiscuous having several one night stands that her friend reminds her of, but then in a crowded coffee shop she meets the one man that the sick twisted fates decided to be her mate. The story takes the reader to different parts of the world trying to keep Jade and Peter a step ahead of the crazy Arrow organization.
I love this story because not only did I enjoy the escape that one experiences when reading but it also took me to different cities around the world. I'am looking forward to the next book and recommend this great story.
