Worship-quality lyrics; NOT more pop!
When contemporary Christian music was first evolving, it was growing out of worship settings and therefore was more like liturgy set to lyrical, contemporary sounding melodies. When contemporary Christian music was first evolving, it was growing out of worship settings and therefore was more like liturgy set to lyrical, contemporary sounding melodies. I think this album is quintessential contemporary worship music, NOT written for play on Christian radio stations.
This album has been in my collection for 25 years. The lyrics are NOT the pop "7-11" songs that are overplayed now ("Seven words repeated eleven times"). Many are virtually scripture set to music. Debby Boone's voice is clear and sweet; not overwrought with vocal gymnastics which take attention away from the message and put it on the performer. I cannot recommend this album enough.

A great voice with Christ centered songs that belong in worship services. I have listened and sung along with this cassette tape for years. The version of the 23rd Psalm is the best I've ever heard. Lord I Believe is a great affirmation of the Christian belief. Holy Father is a wonderful prayer for peace.
