Why Walk When You Can Soar?
Christian, are you tired? Discouraged? Overwhelmed? Ready to throw in the towel? A feeling of defeat was not God's true design for serving Him.
Andrew Murray provides refreshing insights on the power of effective prayer and the strength to be found in waiting on God. With wise counsel from the Word of God, he emphasizes the solutions for the ageless problem of spiritual exhaustion.
As you grasp these simple biblical truths and effectively incorporate them into your life, you will find yourself able to soar with eagles' wings.
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

About the Author

South African pastor and author Andrew Murray (1828—1917) was an amazingly prolific writer. Murray began writing on the Christian life for his congregation as an extension of his local pastoral work, but he became internationally known for his books, such as With Christ in the School of Prayer and Abide in Christ, that searched men's hearts and brought them into a deep relationship with Christ. Writing with an intensity of purpose and zeal for the message of the gospel, Murray wrote numerous books even after his "retirement" at age seventy–eight.

Format: Paperback
In this very readable book, John Randolph Price discusses the secret school, the master teacher and the inner classroom where you can win your wings. He shares insights received from within on issues like self-realization, wholeness, the ego and the raising of consciousness individually and worldwide, also proposing ways in which the reader may write their own textbook through similar dialogues with the divine within. Uplifting and inspiring reading and contains a variety of useful meditations.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By forever on May 22, 2013
Format: Paperback
This book is a collection of three sermons delivered by the author in the UK. There is a stark difference in the writing and speaking style of Andrew Murray. His written books are very deep and take multiple rounds of reading and contemplation to start capturing the message. On the other hand, his speaking style was surprisingly light and easy to follow and comprehend. Instead of the usual in-depth discussion of a topic, here the reader finds an easy-going discourse on three topics: the unity within the Church, tapping into the Holy Spirit for effective prayer, and letting go of our own strength to let the strength of God take over. Each sermon can be easily read in one seating and makes for very good reading.

This book is wonderful for anyone beginning the journey of wanting to strengthen their faith. I see it as a perfect first read, that opens the way to all of the deeper writings Andrew Murray has on the subject. I had the distinct impression that this book is like a fishing net, to gather people at any stage in their faith journey and prepare you for deeper lessons going forward to increase your faith.
