top shelf melodic death metal!, June 23, 2007

the formula: 2 outstanding keyboard/piano players, two duelling guitarists who play thrashy leads and rhythms, a solid bassist who you can actually hear, an excellent drummer, and a vocalist who has a blackened rasp....so the order of the day for this fine death metal dish is a thrashy, blackened, death metal affair that is majestic, melodic, and emotionally satisfying with its dark yet cathartic passages; and features great epic songwriting....this band has it all! I highly recommend this and their other album "amorous anathema" to anyone who is seeking Leaders of the pack in the watered-down genre that melodic death metal has become.
