Of the 80's and with female vocals to boot !!!.2 lp's one cd:On the first one ¨Within The Prophecy¨(87)the music is weird in that its not pure thrash but incorporates slight touches of doom and power metal.Excellent rythm section, sparse but nice vocals, most of the music and songs are instrumentals.Guitars are bathed in enormous amounts of reverb making the midrange...

2.0 out of 5 stars This great band deserves better.
I was greatly dissapointed by this disc. "Behind The Realms of Madness" is an overlooked thrash metal masterpiece. It has long been on my wish list of albums that I have wanted to come out on CD.Unfortunately, this disc sounds as if it was recorded off of a used LP. Perhaps the master tapes no longer exist. Even if this is true, more care could have been put into...

Of the 80's and with female vocals to boot !!!.2 lp's one cd:On the first one ¨Within The Prophecy¨(87)the music is weird in that its not pure thrash but incorporates slight touches of doom and power metal.Excellent rythm section, sparse but nice vocals, most of the music and songs are instrumentals.Guitars are bathed in enormous amounts of reverb making the midrange somewhat hollow and imprecise, but then again that maybe the band's style and not a recording flaw.Keyboards are used for intros on some song, but in no way intrude during the songs, which are as long as 10'in some cases.Tracks 8-13 conform 1985's band's debut lp,Behind The Realms Of Madness, which is a slightly different affair.Less technical (not that WTProfechy is very technical, mind you) than their sophomore album, with an almost totally thrashcore approach;songs are shorter and the vocals are now an intense, throat shredding barf affair, the first 3 song containing blasting in the distance effects, like the demential soundtrack to a war slaughter. Both have been lifted from their respectful vinyls, and it shows in a couple of non importnt skips and a little clicking and popping at the beggining of the songs(though nothing anybody but a total freak would care about).Look forward for the remastered reissue of this gem.
