The photographs are gorgeous, sure, but what really sets this book apart is its lyrical mastery of the poetic. This is one photographer who can write almost better than he snaps. The descriptions are liquid, the stories float. His exquisite descriptions match the peerless beauty of the nature he writes about. A beautiful book. Newbert should write more. He brings the majesty of the ocean to the printed page.

Beautifully photographed. It's sets the standard for underwater photographers worldwide. Probably the finest "coffee table" book of its type.
