This is an excellent guide for learning how to give and receive criticism. It is also a beautiful guide for learning how to love unconditionally, set boundaries, and find a higher level of self-respect. One of the best books I've ever read! I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

This book is based on Christian ideals, and can helped you come closer to Christ by realizing the importance of edifying with kind words. It can also help you to realize how your unrequested advice can be perceived by others as criticisms. I noticed that my relationships could be better with coworkers, family, and friends, and realized the reason was because I was just 'being honest'. This book has already helped me repair and improve cherished relationships. This book is a must-read for anyone looking to be their best self and anyone who is honestly striving to help others become their best selves.

Dr. Lund opened my eyes to the many ways that I was dishing out veiled criticism that nevertheless compromised my relationships. This book has helped me to be more respectful of others, to set and respect boundaries, to understand when I have the right or responsibility to criticize and the best way to go about it. I can hardly think of anyone whose relationships would not be improved by following the counsel given in Without Offense. Excellent! The audiobook is great, too! Our family listened to it on a long road trip and we should probably make that a yearly tradition!

This book is a life-changer. So often we think that it is our responsibility to provide "constructive criticism," even though we weren't asked, we didn't ask for permission, and it isn't our place to do so. Dr. Lund points out that "constructive criticism" is an oxymoron. Construction means to build up, but criticism tears down. Criticism can destroy love. What we really need to do is let the Lord work on our loved ones, and He can do it more effectively if we will just be quiet and let Him work. All of our relationships can be improved with a lot more faith and a lot less criticism.

Learning how to give criticism helps us learn how to receive criticism. Not every criticism deserves our attention. Criticism can be a learning opportunity, but we need to be prepared to receive it or all it will do is hurt. There have been times when I have felt like a duck with a target on its side, but now I feel much thicker-skinned. Dr. Lund has very valuable information here, for anyone who has ever felt criticized or had the desire to criticize others.

So helpful! This book came to my attention when I was feeling very misunderstood and criticized. I wanted the freedom to experience feedback without being hurt and offended. This book has helped me to see how often I am critical myself, and now I find myself pausing before saying the first thing that comes into my mind. I believe that as I continue to practice the principles explained about giving and receiving criticism in the Lord's way that all my relationships are going to be improved. I have already given my copy to a friend, ordered another, and I'm getting it on CD so I can listen to it on the morning commute. I recommend this book highly to anyone!
