An album we all should own, August 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Without You I'm Nothing (Audio CD)
"Without you i'm nothing" is an amazing follow up album to Placebo's debut album, "Placebo". The title track along with many other tracks on the album explore the raw emotions, sexuality and trauma of the band, and it is sheer brilliance. Anyone who enjoys a good sound with unreal depth must have this album!!

An Album to Cherish!, December 4, 2000
The second album by Placebo "Without You I'm Nothing" showcases their talent - through Brian Molko's lyrics and the band's sound. The second album is a step forward for Placebo, whose first album was basically written by Molko in his room. This album is written by Molko, but the sounds are Placebo! The highlights on this album include "Every You Every Me", also featured on the "Cruel Intentions" soundtrack, "Allergic", and singles, ie "Pure Morning", "You Don't Care About Us" and "Without You I'm Nothing". While another highlight is "Scared of Girls" with powerful lyrics and music. Overall, the album is a credit to Placebo, and thanks to them, many of us fans have an album to cherish!

Sadder and More Depressing than Debut, December 1, 2000
"Without You I'm Nothing" is the follow-up to placebo's self-titled debut album. The general feeling of the album is gloomy and depressed, which differs from the debut - which was filled with teenage lust and sexual energy. The highlight of this album have to "Every You Every Me", which also appears on the soundtrack Cruel Intentions. This track is catchy lyrically and is acoustically driven. Over tracks to look out for, besides the singles, include "Allergic" - a catchy and meaningful track, with many memorable lines, and "Scared of Girls", a powerful song which deals with male sexuality. The album also contains some ballads which are ultra sad and at time very depressing, such as "The Crawl", "Sweet Prince", "Ask For Answers" and "Summer's Gone". The title track "Without You I'm Nothing" is one of the singles to lookout for with the build up of lyrics and musics.
