I love music. Rock and roll is one the greatest things ever invented my mankind as we know it... I love all kinds of rock, metal, and such... At first, I hated screaming... I thought that there was no talent in it, etc. Over the years, screaming has grown on me. Now I love it. When I first got into screamo, I listened to early Avenged Sevenfold and Killswitch Engage. As time went by, I came to love bands like All That Remains, The Devil Wears Prada, Attack Attack!, Underoath, Trivium, etc. One day my friend showed me blessthefall. I liked their original portrayal of the "screamo" style. It was catchy, just straight up rock. Amazingness. Then, I basically forgot about blessthefall as I listened to even more, newer hardcore groups, like Escape The Fate, and Threat Signal, and Scar Symmetry. Then, I read somewhere that blessthefall was making a new cd, and I thought it would be pretty interesting considering the change in blessthefall's line-up. So I bought the Witness the first day it came out, from amazon.com. All I can say, is this: I have listened to A LOT of rock. A lot of metal. And an UNGODLY amount of screamo... Witness is one of the BEST heavy metal albums I have EVER heard. From start to finish, the album's sound is simply captivating. Beau's voice is flawless. The screaming is better than before. The drums are an orgasm to the ears. The guitars are just mind-blowing. Everything is perfect. The balance of melody and sheer brute force is at the perfect equilibrium. The style is even more original than the first. The production is miles ahead of His Last Walk. One of the best albums in the hardcore scene to be released since The End of Heartache, or Ashes of the Wake, or even City of Evil. This cd is downright PERFECT. Like they said... THEY AREN'T DEAD. They are far from it. They are one of the best heavy bands of this decade. BUY IT NOW. Support and experience the next greatest hardcore act of our time.

BUY THIS ALBUM! Oh, sorry, my Caps button was stuck. Seriously though, buy this album. BlesstheFall has been MIA for a bit in the album release respect, but this album makes up for that time and more. Opener "2.0" says it all with, "...We are not what they said; We are not dead..." Theses guys come in swinging with an album mashed with awesome guitar rifts and enough double pedal, bass trigger-ness to drive your folks up a wall, but allow you to relax in the rocking ambiance. Not a fan yet? Give this album a try if you enjoy Metal with a mix of Post-hardcore and just a touch of lighter rock. This is a well rounded band, with an even more well rounded album with a whole circular sound (I didn't want to say "well rounded" again.) BUY THIS ALBUM! Support your band!

The songs on this are great, and this has been my first blessthefall CD ever, and maybe even first Post-Hardcore CD too. I played this countless times in my car and noticed that the darn major record labels just can't get past the fact that ruining the dynamic range has affected the review of this product. You can clearly hear the digital distortion from the intense limiting that they did during the mastering process of the making of the CD. I have yet to listen to this on other systems, but for the most part, it seemed to have a very blaring high end to it, that made ear fatigue kick in earlier than it should. Other than that, the structure of the songs is good, and there are some great mixing techniques and transitions to songs. Worth the money for the most part.

If your into posthardcore you'll probably love this album. This CD is a typical post-hardcore album. They have a new Vocalist, his name is Beau or whatever. Hes a talented guy, sounds somewhat similar to the last vocalist...I do not think he does any screaming. I think the bassist who did some backup vocals on the prior cd does it all. If so, it doesnt really matter this CD still has an awful lot of screaming in it to satisfy most. The screaming is extremely brutal sounding, surprisingly so! It was very well recorded, the man has a ton of range with his voice and it sounds great. If your into screaming you should hear this man on some of the samples because he sounds great! As for the new vocalist, hes your typical singer IMO. Some people with argue this or that but if your a veteran of the genre, you know what I mean. For those who don't what you hear on the samples is how hes going to sound the entire time. Hes good, good tone and all, just be aware thats what you will have to hear. No real shouting/yelling or any thing. There are breakdowns if your into that, usually the bassist throwing his vox over them to great effect. There isn't a ton of breakdowns so don't expect that. They're well done and high energy. Recording quality is very well done. Its not mega clean but its extremely well produced. The production really boosted this album. Musically the songs are well written, they have chorus lines but the chorus lines enhance the songs they're used in and are somewhat fun to hear. I'm not a fan of chorus lines at all but I did not mind the ones in these songs. Sometimes you'll hear the same chorus line 3-4 times. Sometimes only twice. Be aware if your really not into them. Some people hate them. Lyrically some of the songs are pretty well written. Be advised some of the lyrics are faith based and so I recommend you take a look prior to buying on any lyrics site. So there you have it, its a great Post Hardcore cd with alot of memorable parts and a really good bassist/screamer with atypical singing associated with this genre. He sounds a tad older then most come off. I personally think this CD's just alright. I gave it 5 stars because as a post-hardcore CD, its excellent. I'll listen to it once in awhile because alot of its catchy but doesn't stand out to me as anything new to the genre. Enjoy!

This album is simply awesome screamo. If you have listened to the first album and not this one don't think that it won't be that great. I was kind of skeptical when I first bought this but after listening to it, it has become a favorite of mine. Waaaaay better than the first album, this is a must buy!

I actually saw Escape The Fate with Bullet For My Valentine and really got into ETF. Then I came across blessthefall's CD "His Last Walk" and was completely blown away. They are, without a doubt, the best band in their emo/screamo/post hardcore whatever you want to call this genre. The original lead singer (who was amazing in his own right!) moved on to ETF and put out a good cd, not even close to BTF though. He was replaced by Beau. I have to say, they did not skip a beat! Beau rocks! I'd give this CD 10 stars if I could. There's not a lot of bands that just got "it" but BTF does. Their sound is put together very well and very talented stuff. The guitarist is amazing! Both CD's are an easy 10! They're young kids too! Hopefully they will be around for a while and put out several more incredible cd's! FYI, I don't usually post CD reviews. I felt this one deserved it.
