Book Description

Ever wondered what it would be like to be someone else for a day? How about for the rest of your life? That's the reality for thousands who have entered into the federal witness protection program. It also becomes a reality for thirty year old Madison West.
When young and law abiding citizen Madison West accidentally witnesses not one, but two murders, she finds that her life is no longer her own. And when police tell her that Ricardo Castillo, the man behind the shooting, is heavily involved in the sex trafficking of young women she whole- heartedly agrees to testify against him. And as her life continues to spiral out of control one thing remains constant, she is always protected.
Crime lord Ricardo Castillo wants Madison to pay for her performance in front of the grand jury so he puts a contract out on her. After a violent shoot out, Madison is moved some fifteen hundred miles away. But when a freak occurrence uncovers her real identity, Madison knows that she is going to have to think fast on her feet if she has any intentions of getting on with her life. Because if she doesn’t she may have to deal with some severe retribution that will affect not only her, but those around her as well. Including Deputy Tristan Calloway, the United States Marshal assigned to protect her.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Story October 28, 2013
By Gfaith
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked this story. However, I have to say that the transitions left much too be desired. The story line was good but the author has work to do in her story transition. There was no DEPTH of characters and there was no story texture.

1.0 out of 5 stars coudn't finish December 10, 2013

shallow, annoying, selfish female lead. I only made it halfway through and decided I'd had enough. the author is obsessed with looks, and I don't see how any person could fall for the female lead. I stopped halfway through.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Story June 18, 2014
By Procats
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Yes the grammar wasn't the best, however, I thought it was a pretty good story. I liked the characters and it was good against evil. Madison had no family to speak of, so there really was no other people to speak of except for one couple and I don't want to give anything away, so that is all I will say on that. The sad thing is, there are really evil people out there like the bad ones in the book. I thought Ursula Dukes did a very good job on her story and I will read more of her books.

1.0 out of 5 stars Review of book Witness Protection December 28, 2013
By Marilyn
Format:Kindle Edition
I would give this book 1/2 star. I have never read a book with so many grammatical and punctuation errors: "your" instead of you're 95 percent of the time; "decent" instead of "descent"; "there" instead of "their"; and it goes on and on - bare/bear, to/too, they/they're, their/they're, spend/spent. This is only a few of the errors. Was this book not edited?

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a 're-read January 15, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The idea for the story was good; drug and sex trafficking is a serious crime of our time. The format is very bad; it just ran into each other. Often it was difficult to make out which character was speaking. They were no strong character; even the professionals appeared weak. The book was too long for the content. It presented as self edited and self published.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrong Place Right Time June 19, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Witness Protection was a gripping read.

What would you do if you happened to witness a brutal murder while you were just minding your own business and now what you have seen has place you in great risk? Well, it just so happens that Madison is now living trough that situation. She now has a kingpin from the underworld after her. It seems that no one who has stumbled across the violent acts of this man has ever lived to tell about it. When the police realize they have a witness to the awful acts that have been committed by this criminal who they have been trying to capture, they pull out all of the stops to make sure she stays alive. Madison is given her own private security detail, including US Marshal Tristan Calloway to protect her.

Will this security detail be able to keep her safe enough to testify to the violent acts that she witness or will the criminal elude the law yet again and kill Madison before the trial?

You must read this book to find out to Madison and see if justice is served. It will not disappoint you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Protect Me Too, Me Too! March 24, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good story and likable characters. Even secondary characters are done well. I liked the POVs from other characters, making them real and making the story more interesting. Great insight into the illogical minds of criminals and their illegal activities. Very very good writing. This novel will be read again by me. Highly recommend this book. 5 stars

At the first safe house, a nice home procured by the feds, I can understand Madison's neediness and wanting comfort and getting it from lonely Cole, a married man (oh boy) whose been on too many long assignments. Cole compromises his professionalism by getting too close to the beautiful and exotic Madison. Good thing his team is tight, and they keep yanking him back to the job at hand. If the other agents were not there, I believe Cole would have put the moves on Madison, i.e., taken advantage of her vulnerability and become intimate with her. When there's a disagreement, Madison is absolutely juvenile to climb out the BR window and ended up endangering herself and the agents. I like how Madison and Cole had a conflicted relationship and how the author Ursula Dukes took it right to the edge.

At the second safe house, a cabin attached to Agent Tristan's secluded home, we have the makings of a good ol' love triangle. Madison is quickly attracted to the homeowner, hunky, nice, and "single" Agent Tristan. But wait, Madison still has feelings for kind, comforting but "married" Agent Cole. Madison corrects the situation by quickly moving Agent Cole to the friend category faster than he can order a fake ID. As we see, Cole has a difficult time adjusting to his lowered status.

4.0 out of 5 stars What a rollercoaster
It started off a little slow, but once it picked up it was a doozy!! I love when a book gives you that "OH S**T" moment. And that is exactly what happen.

3.0 out of 5 stars low on sex
Interesting. Murder, drama , suspense, drugs, sex trafficking, sadness. Yes this romance novel has all of that and not enough hot sex. That's why this book is only getting 3 stars. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars An OK book
Just an OK book for me, didn't like the way one topic ran into another. A little confusing at times. Needed some editing. Basically a good story, predictable, but OK.

1.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't get past the first chapter :-/
Um.. wow. The writing style, grammar and lack of character depth, all point to a new author. I couldn't get past a lot of the errors. It was all just too messy for me.
