Wonderful,

I just finished this book and can't wait to get to the next story. The characters and settings are so realist it feels as though I am right there in the offices and cars with the characters. The characters are like like long lost friends. The stories always take unexpected turns and I can never figure out how they are going to end. Philadelphia circa 1973 seems like an interesting place to be. Griffin is an exceptional story teller.

How nice to read a book of this genre which deals with little more than the development of interesting characters. No superfluous details either. I have since read a preceding book in the series and it too was as enjoyable.

Typical WEB Griffin Book - A great read. I have been going back and ordering the entire series so I can read them in the order that they were published as the "story lines" will make more sense... but it is not necessary however.Enjoy, I did...

I have all of WEB Griffins books and rate him along with Wilbur Smith as my all time favorite author. His sagas span several different action themes, but they are all either military, police or intelligence services. The author has residence both in Texas and Argentina and has spent a great deal of time with our military so he uses his familiarity with these settings and people to cast a very nice spell in his work. My wife also enjoys the books so I would say they are suitable for all readers.

I am sadly reading the badge of honor series by Mr. Griffen. It's sad because when I finish it, there will be nothing left for me to read that comes close to his writting style. I look forward to every five to ten minutes that I spend absorbed in his charachters, I feel as if I know them all.

Not one of W.E.B. Griffen's best efforts, but an enjoyable read.,

If you want dynamic, believable characters, engaging dialog, and a plot line that grabs you "by the short hairs" and doesn't let go, you'll love this book. You want to see a good kid who joined the police force to drives his family nuts stumble into impossible situations and get himself back out using trial and error? You'll love this book. You want to see the good guys win, even if they make a few mistakes along the way? You'll love this book. If you fancy yourself an English Lit teacher who needs to critique everything you read? This book will drive you nuts; go pick up some poetry and spare us all your outrage. I have been an avid W.B.B. Griffin fan since I was old enough to read adult-level books. That being said, this series is not one of his better one's in my opinion. Every author has a time line slip here and there or a random detail change, especially with a long series. This series is a folly of them, with characters randomly changing ages several times within the same volume as well as throughout the series, magically jumping from the 1970s to 2003 in a six month period of time. If you are a stickler for that sort of thing, don't try this series out. Since I have read the whole series, several volumes more than once, I am obviously not one of those people. ;)

I have been enjoying Griffin's Badge of Honour series. This is the fourth book in the series, and I'm starting to feel like I know Peter Wohl and his group of Special Forces cops. This was a page-turner for me. I thought the story moved along quickly, and it certainly held my interest right from the opening pages where a robbery occurs at a family-run furniture store. I love the interplay between the characters in these books, especially between the Special Forces crew and the administration which includes the mayor of Philedelphia and the Police Commissioner. Griffin captivates with characters, and that just makes me want to read more. I can't wait to read the next one.

The continuing adventures with Matt Payne, Peter Wohl and associates. I thought that this installment moved quickly, a fast read with enough suspense and excitement to keep me going. I enjoy the character development, this author's strength. The murder of a police officer in the previous book remains annoyingly unsolved. I am disappointed by Griffin's frequent use of racial epithets in this episode. Granted, he attempts to be an equal opportunity offender by labeling the mayor the Dago and Peckach the Polack, but those usages did not come near the number of "schwartzer" (and worse)references. However offensive, it is not enough to keep me from moving on to book five.
