This is an insanely fun read. Mr. Liebke's book is a witty, fast-paced, gonzo romp featuring a super-cool, super-brainy heroine (Kitty Wittgenstein, hailed as "the smartest woman in the world," is a supermodel-philosopher) who investigates a dangerous conspiracy to turn Oscar-winners into lycanthropes. This book is a genuine pleasure: The dialogue is sharp, the pacing is brisk, the plotting is wildly innovative to the point of being flat-out bonkers, and above all, it's incredibly funny. There's no easy comparison to anything else I've read -- the surreal mixture of real-life celebrities and wide-reaching violent intrigue reminds me a bit of Bret Easton Ellis's "Glamorama", but the dry humor and ironic observations are more like Douglas Adams at his best.

I loved this book--in fact I thought it was one of the best in the Kitty Wittgenstein series. The storyline is compelling, and I simply couldn't stop reading until I had finished the entire story. Kitty is a wonderful heroine, and the first person narrative makes it easy to get drawn into the story and follow along. The story is also fast-paced, with a perfect mixture of mystery and action. Kitty constantly gets into tough situations and the reader is left to wonder how she could possibly get out of them. And, sprinkled into the action are clues to the mystery conspiracy--there were enough clues to keep the reader interested without giving everything away until literally the very end. It's kind of a DaVinci Code meets Albert Einstein meets supermodel Gisele all wrapped up in one. Really a great read, I can't wait for more books in the series!
