Product workmanship was poor,

This review is from: Wittner Wood Metronome Walnut
When I ordered this product, I knew it was an expensive purchase but was willing to pay the high price for a product of superior workmanship and materials. When I recedived the product, it was made of a thin piece of wood vaneer with plastic in the center. I was shocked, it was cheaply made and not worth anywhere near the price I paid for it. I expected a Seth Thomas type product but this was not the case at all. I was highly disappointed. I returned the product for a refund. I would not recommend this product at all.

VERY NICE,

This review is from: Wittner Wood Metronome Mahogany
I like this Metronome far better than electronic metronomes because I have gone through two electronic metronomes that for some reason just stopped working; so, I decided to go to the old method, and I am far more satisfied with this old style wind up Metronome. WORD OF WARNING: The Metronome slides from the thumb and fingers when picking it up from the top; so, I used Shoegoo for glue, and I glued a strip of velcro on both sides; the velcro was only the spiky part, and I threw the soft velcro away; now, when I pick the metronome up from the top it will not slide through my thumb and finger; otherwise, it is best to pick up the metronome by grabbing it in a palmed fashion. Also, I had some little rubber circles that glue on to the bottom of electronic products to stop them from sliding around; so I glued a little rubber circle on each one of the feet of the Metronome in order to stop it from sliding off of smooth surfaces because it will slide off on a smooth surface! You do not want to drop this precious item; also, do not wind it up very much so that at the end of each use, you can slide the gauge to beat very fast so that it will completely wind down; thus, removing tension on the spring; also, it has a very nice look to it when it is not being used compared to that of some ugly electronic gadget. The sound on this Metronome is a good loud solid wood nock.

The ultimate,

This review is from: Wittner 6411 Metronome Mahogany Wood Mahogany Wood Case With Bell (Electronics)
This metronome is simply the best. No electronic metronome I've tried has a clap and ring that penetrates like the original design of Maelzel (that Beethoven parodied in his 8th Symphony). I highly recommend the bell with adjustable intervals --- if you get off the beat, the bell will bring you back to the downbeat. The wood finish on these models is sumptuous. The gearing is plastic, which I worry may not be as durable as metal, but hey, the Germans know what they're doing right? It may simply not be an issue given the stresses it actual receives. The bottom is easy to open up --- I found the bell rang a little too long so I put a tad of tape on it to dampen it to my liking, and the design made it easy to access. The lid latch is superior to the sliding hook of the old designs which could scar the wood.
And anyway, what could be more cool that having a pyramid in your living room? 2115|R1XB1O6X3QXQHQ;2115|R9UVJ37H5DORE;2115|R3ERUNTUWYC80N;
