Ms. Santiago is amazing with her compelling voice and sexy storylines! The three wives tales are simply not to be missed. If you like futuristic--or just plain great writing--I promise you will not be disappointed. There is a reason she is a rising star in the world of erotic romance. This book illustrates it perfectly.

Sophie Brent finds herself at the company Christmas party. She doesn't know why she bothered to attend because the one man that she wants above all others probably won't even notice she is there. Sophie placates herself with punch and prepares to make a run for it. Sophia suddenly finds herself face to face with the one man that makes her heart pound and her palms sweat; Matthew Westland, her boss and the object of all her fantasies. Sophie contents herself with exchanging pleasantries and heads to the parking garage. Just before she leaves the building, she hears the elevator doors open and someone calls her name. Turning around she finds that it is none other than Matthew Westland and Sophie throws caution to the wind and heads back towards him and the mistletoe hanging above their heads.Sophie doesn't realize that this is the last time she will ever see Matthew as a free, independent woman. A new government is days away from taking over and her life is about to change. The next time she sees Matthew will be at a wife auction where she is the main attraction in a bidding war. Ever since reading The Miner's Wife, I have been waiting for the release of The Executive's Wife by Lara Santiago. It was all I wanted it to be and more. Full of highly erotic and emotionally hot sex, I fell in love with Matthew almost immediately. Talk about a true hero in helping a damsel in distress; I love how Matt took care to keep Sophie safe but allowed her wings to fly, even if just in the privacy of their home. I thought Sophie intelligent and unafraid and I found myself more than once cheering her decisions. The Executive's Wife ties in and relates to The Miner's Wife beautifully. I love how Lara Santiago has written this series and I can't wait for the third installment. Brutal Blackthorn needs a wife, and he needs one today. Genetically bred, he gets his energy from sexual release and it has been months since his last woman. Brutal goes into town to the wife auction, but when the auction nears the end, Brutal and one other man are left without a wife because one of the women died in transport. Deciding to fight for the last remaining female, Brutal looks at her on the auction block and asks for her name. When he looks in her eyes, he knows he is lost and that he has to be the one to win. Hannah Brent just knows that there has been some mistake. Sold by her ex-husband to pay gambling debts, she is transported to a moon surrounding Mars to be a wife to a miner. When Brutal politely asks her name, she is spellbound and tells him that if he wins, she will not give him any trouble. Hannah doesn't realize that in making this bargain, she will never want to leave his arms. Alas, trouble follows and only by sheer will does Hannah over come it. I fell in love with Brutal Blackthorn in The Miner's Wife. He was a big ole sweet man who tried to be tough, but once he fell in love with Hannah, she was his whole world and I liked that. It made me all warm and fuzzy inside that a hero as tough as Brutal would become putty in Hannah's hands. As for Hannah, for having gone through what she did, she was an extremely strong, intelligent woman. She was in control of Brutal without him even knowing it, and I loved that! The Miner's Wife is the first book I have read written by Lara Santiago and it will not be the last. The storyline kept me spellbound and the romantic interludes of the characters were extremely erotic. In fact, I couldn't put this book down until I read the last word. Lucky for me, there are two more books in Ms. Santiago's Wives Tales Series, The Executive's Wife and The Lawman's Wife, that I look forward to reading! If you are a fan of futuristic books, or even if you aren't, The Miner's Wife is just a good, all-around read that is totally satisfying! Talia reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

My first book by this author and I did love it was kinda different for me. I didn't get use to Brutal's name because it didn't seem to fit him he was the sweetness guy i fell in love with him myself. and I love Hannah she was a good character to read and i can't complain about the sex in the book enjoyed my read. I just started the second series in the book.
