Customer Reviews

I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes 'trick' card games.

Which means that ace of trump (or any other good card) could lose if a wizard is played!

My older kids (10 & 8) love it, but I would recommend it more for older kids and adults.

We were introduced to this game about 2 years ago by a distant relative and have since hooked most of our immediate family. We play everytime we get together. At first it may be a little discouraging because you have to make your exact bid or you lose points, but once you get the hang of it the bidding becomes easier. My older kids (10 & 8) love it, but I would recommend it more for older kids and adults. There is also a website wizardcards.com you can register and play for free. Very fun, but I would get the cards first and learn how to play before going online.

Wizard is one of the greatest card games created and kids and adults of all ages can play. It is great for family and friend reunions or just a fun family night together. Everyone who has learned how to play the game is hooked. It has provided hours of fun and cries of disbelief in our family.

This is a great gift set for anyone who loves Wizards. Wizards is the funnest card game I've ever played - a great mix of luck and strategy for all ages. Once you start playing this game you can't stop. The gift set is lovely, very nice quality and provides great storage.

I played this game for the first time with my family the other night (kids are age 8-17). It was okay - not the worst game by far that we've ever played together. However, there's a new card game called Elbows Up! that is very similar to Wizard in concept but a whole lot funner - It's one of the funnest card games we've ever played as a family - Check it out here: Elbows Up! Card Game. It's more expensive than this game, but still very affordable and well worth the cost for a good family fun night game.

This is an easy-to-learn & fun-to-play card game! My husband & I were introduced to Wizard by some friends & liked it so much that we bought a pack for ourselves & one to give as a gift. There's just enough of a mix of strategy & luck involved to make all players feel like they have a chance of winning.

There's nothing here that can't be accomplished with a regular deck and the rules. That said, this is the hands-down best game of cards I've ever played. I may be naive in saying that, but our family gets together about once a week and plays.

I've played other games of trump and while skill is involved, there's a lot of luck involved too. Wizard is uniquely skill oriented. And while you might still get a lucky hand, even players who are unluckly dealt consistently poor hands will still often win the game, as scoring is based on the number of tricks you plan on taking.

No question about it, the price of the deck is worth the rule sheet alone. Fantastically fun game.

Our family started playing Wizard around a table and had a lot of fun evenings.Once we found out we could play it on the computer that is when it became addictive. We all live in different areas of the country so it is fun when we can play each other on line and not have to wait for a chance to get together.

Have told friends about the game and they have joined and really enjoy it.

We've been playing Wizard for about 10 years now. It's a great
"trump" card game. If you like Hearts or Spades, you'll love Wizard. Our kids have been old enough to play with us for a few years now (hence the need for a new deck!)The instructions say for ages 10 and up, though I think most 8 year olds could play this. But it's definitely an adult favorite too! Another nice feature of Wizard is that you can stop and take up the game another time...just save the score sheet.
