5.0 out of 5 stars Wizard: Jim Lee, Millennium Edition
With Jim Lee's well-deserved, wide-reaching popularity, I'm a little surprised more people aren't writing reviews for this(!).
A 7-page interview/biography kicks this amazing book off; a fascinating summary of Lee's successful career. The 1st 3rd of the book mainly consists of previously published articles & interviews detailing just about everything we could need...

ok, two comments:

"Top it all off with an amazing cover featuring Batman with Wolverine and you have the ultimate official Jim Lee event..."

funny thing is that the cover is just a composite of two previously published images
"WOW! I have those two images of Batman and Wolverine separately! But ....now they're TOGETHER! Holy crap!"...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wizard: Jim Lee, Millennium Edition, December 13, 2006

This review is from: Wizard: Jim Lee, Millennium Edition (Hardcover)
With Jim Lee's well-deserved, wide-reaching popularity, I'm a little surprised more people aren't writing reviews for this(!).
A 7-page interview/biography kicks this amazing book off; a fascinating summary of Lee's successful career. The 1st 3rd of the book mainly consists of previously published articles & interviews detailing just about everything we could need to know about this comics superstar's present & past. Details of recent DC projects seems to dominate, but Image & Marvel details are given too.

The 1st half of this volume finishes with random artwork & sketches, as well as a detailed checklist of Lee's entire body of work. Some of this artwork is pretty hard to find. Some of it's in pencil; some in ink; some in color; and still some in other media.

The 2nd half of this work is phenomenal: it's a collection of *every* cover, pinup, and poster Lee has drawn to date (2004)! Everything from Alpha Flight to Superman, and from independent comics to Heroes Reborn is displayed in full color. Designs for action figures, drawings from when he was a kid, finished posters & Wizard covers- all are included, reproduced at various sizes, on super slick, glossy white paper. His entire career in 250+ pages! It's highly recommended!

In short: Buying this book for the art alone, we're already getting more than our money's worth. The interviews detailing his amazing career seem like an extra special bonus. Now if I could only convince them to make a John Byrne, Millennium Edition! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars The ultimate Jim Lee book!, June 25, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Wizard: Jim Lee, Millennium Edition (Hardcover)
I absolutely love Jim Lee, and helped put together the check list in the book, and this book has it all.

It has Jim's entire history in it and a checklist of every piece he has had a hand in. And the best part of this book is its gallery. It has the cover of every single comic Lee has ever done in it! From Alpha Flight to Xmen to his current Superman, every cover is in here! Its beautiful.

You cannot call yourself a Lee fan, or a real comic fan, if you dont own this wonderful book, from perhaps the most influential artist of the past 20 years.

and

"that only the editors of Wizard: The Comics Magazine could publish!"

The editors of Wizard would publish Rob Liefeld's feces, so that isn't really a reason to buy this book
