A Wonderful Recording of this Timeless Classic,

The London Cast of "The Wizard of Oz" was naturally wonderful! It includes extra verses in "If I Only Had A Brain/A Heart/The Nerve", "The Merry Old Land of Oz", and "Over the Rainbow". The sound was so clear I couldn't believe it! I recommend this album to any other Wizard of Oz fans!

Well, if you are looking for a British version of this musical -- this CD is the answer. This CD covers the highlights of the Wizard of Oz sung by a fantastic cast from LONDON. Don't expect to hear the original Broadway, but still a good show.

This was a great cd, but I wouldn't get it. The reason I say that is because there is another cd of the Londan cast out but with all the songs on it, like the twister, the winkies, ding dong the witch is dead and more. Not just the highlights.It is called (The Wizard of Oz- the Londan cast recording) It isn't avalable yet on Amazon.com but it is in the stores. Why waist your money on this cd when you can get the same one with more songs on it instead.

This recording adapts the original 1939 original well. the Viking Opera Guide calls this cast recording the typical edition of all stage versions. It includes "the Jitterbug" as well as a wonderful treatment of the the rich, full score provided by MGM. I think it is a definitive version of the show.

This is a very well-done recording but it doesn't come close to matching the magic of Judy Garland, Ray Bloger, Bert Lahr, or Jack Haley. For me this isn't the "real" Wizard of Oz. Please buy the cd with the classic voices instead of this remake!
