Follow the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy and friends, but instead of heading to the Emerald City, roll the ruby red dice, pass Go, and collect another $200. This clever collector's edition of Monopoly features full-color photos from the beloved movie on the box and game board, with a wealth of Wizard of Oz references replacing the familiar basics of the traditional game board. (The essential rules of the game remain the same.) Instead of green houses and red hotels, there are little gray farmhouses and emerald green palaces, and the properties around the board are all locations in Kansas, Munchkinland, or Oz. The game tokens are tiny pewter icons of the movie characters, a tornado, and the famous ruby slippers. The Chance and Community Chest cards are replaced by Good Witch and Bad Witch cards containing appropriate directions. ("You have been elected Mayor of Munchkinland!") Do you love Monopoly?

Do you love The Wizard of Oz?

Well, this is the perfect blend! All of the aspects of the game have an Oz twist. Each of the money bills has one of the Oz characters. ($500s are Dorothy of course!) Also of the properties have been changed into famous objects and locations in the movie, including Ruby Slippers Way (Park Place), and Home Sweet Home (Bordwalk). All of the tokens have been made into the characters including: Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, The Cowardly Lion, The Twister, and of course The Ruby Slippers.

In this edition the houses become "farmhouses" and the hotels become "Palaces" which are green, of course.
All of the traditional rules apply, of course. I personally own this version of Monopoly, among many others, and the standerd of the presentation is amazing. It is a great tribute to a wonderful film. Hey, play the game and watch the film at the same time! Makes a great evening for the whole family, or maybe a few friends.

The many small, detailed pieces and the numerous cards and bank notes, make this game somewhat delicate and not so durable, but it is wonderful all the same!

Hey, young or old, we all love The Wizard of Oz and Monopoly!

Wizard of Oz Monopoly, I purchased for my daughter, the Wizard of Oz freak, and she loved it. She saw it in a store, and wanted it right then and there, however, I knew Amazon.com would have a better deal. it is really fun to play.
