Product Description

Wizard of Oz is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System video game which is loosely based on the classic movie The Wizard of Oz. The object in the game is to defeat the Wicked Witch of the West that is trying to take Dorothy's ruby slippers so that Dorothy can return to Kansas. Dorothy Gale travels to places like Shy Village, Gamboge Gorge, Maize Meadow, Saffron Fields, Xanith Farms, Citron City, The Red Country, and Cinnibar City. Out of all these settings, most of them are never seen in the film version. Then it veers off into other stages that are actually locations from the 1990 Wizard of Oz animated series by DIC Entertainment[3] (except for the Emerald City and the poppy fields (where the Wicked Witch tried to poison Dorothy and crew to sleep in the movie). The poppy fields were an essential part of the film version because the original point of the story was get to the Emerald City and see the Wizard

In this Seta game, follow Dorothy and her friends on an adventure through the land of Oz.You can play as Dorothy,The Tinman,The Scarecrow, and the Lion. But before you can play them you must beat the BOSS of the world like an old train,a huge mouse, and a huge black bird. But there is one BOSS that is the last one. That BOSS is THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST.She throws fireballs, hits you with her broom.About 10 hits can do it and then she starts to melt. But what lies ahead in the Emerald City?Buy the game and find out!The same adventure that was in the movie, only more places to see.Great game and music! For all ages!A great family experience!

This game has such a cute theme. The graphics are typical of platform game graphics made at that time. However, I have to say that this game was a little disappointing for me.

Basically, Dorothy is very hard to maneuver, especially when jumping. Maybe if the game was more exciting, I would have spent so much time playing that it would have become second nature, this odd jumping, but the game never captured me.

I have heard that you can play as the other characters, but first you have to get very far into the game, farther than I ever could get without losing interest. This might be a neat feature, especially if they can jump better than Dorothy.

A second good point of this game is the music. The midi-type music goes great with the storyline. And the music does help the game stick close to the theme: you're literally dodging lemon drops wherever you go.

But, alas, overall, this game was just too hard to maneuver and was not at the same level as Mario or other classic platform games of its time.

Sorry, Dorothy, but I don't think you're getting back to Kansas on my watch.
