This is one of my favorite strategy games. I was disaponted when I upgraded ot Vista and then to Windows 7, this game is playable, but barely on those systems. It might play fine via XP Mode on Windows 7 Pro, Enterprise, or Ultimate, but have not tried it.

This is an old game. It requires some tactical thinking and resource management, using fire, law enforcement and medical rescue units. That makes it interesting, but the game's fun factor is limited by several things. First, in almost every level your units must interact with elements of the environment, but the mouse must be positioned absolutely perfectly in order to do it. This takes some time, and time isn't always something you have a lot of in this game. Second, some of the elements your units must interact with are very difficult to see even if you know about where they are. Third, sometimes you will do everything you must do in order to complete the mission, and one of your units will get hung up on a terrain element and not be able to leave the scene. In order to beat a level, all of your units must eventually leave the scene, so this terrain hangup can make you have to completely restart the mission and do it again. Fourth, some of the scenarios are very, very complex and difficult to beat without a walkthrough; however walkthroughs are abundant on the net and if you come to a level you just can't beat, there is a cheat code included with game manual, or, rather, game page, inside the packaging which allows you to access any level you choose. In summary, a fairly decent gaming experience is hindered by overly complex mouse positioning and terrain hangups.EMERGENCY FIGHTERS FOR LIFE
