So awful it's hilarious....so many quotable lines!,

I cannot wait for this film to arrive on DVD. The previous reviewer pretty much summed it up - this movie contains the worst artistic and technical production this side of a Troma picture. The acting? Laughable. Music? Casio all the way. Editing is sloppy and a hack job. The script is a total joke from beginning to end, containing lines such as: "Tyor! Even if you embrace the thought of killing him, you will become evil, and join him, and not kill him, GET IT?" Others include: "Hey - see you at 7:30" (this in medieval times before clocks or time was even invented!). However on another level, this movie is GOLD. The fun lies in finding all of the flaws with the special effects and just enjoying the ride. It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen and well worth a rental to check it out.

A Campy Pastiche,
By
This review is from: Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This meandering mish-mosh of a movie takes the form of a "magical family adventure," but is surprisingly filled with camp and raunchy humor. About half the movie is made up of clips from other movies and has their stars reworking their roles. The production is so cehap and just reeks of badness that its only saving grace is its self-concious campiness, occasionally competent sword-fighting, and the suprisingly amusing performance of David Caradine. The story folows the adventures of an old wizard and a young child of prophesy attempting to free a kingdom from the nefarious clutches of...someone or other. It doesn't really seem to matter. The whole point of the movie seems to be having Lana Clarkson walk around between clips of "Barbarian Queen" (though her hair is completely different) and David Carradine totally ham it up as a drunken version of his wandering warrior form "the Warrior and the Sorcoress" (between clips from that movie as well). There are several scenes thay are so played for the risque laugh that I wonder how they got young kids to be in this movie. It is almost not worth the time to say too much about this film, obviously not a lot of time or money was spent creating it. If you need to have the swordfight and battle scenes from several movies of one tape, this video has them, but the two movies mentioned above each have just a little bit more to offer on their own than this one. It is amusing to see the usually serious Carradine have fun with his role for a change. If you're in a very forgiving mood, say perhaps you're having a "lets see something so bad its funny" party, then this video is would fit the bill. There's not much other reason to waste your time here. Trivia: The costume and sword Carradine first wore in "The Warrior and the Sorcoress" and wears again here can also be seen in "Dune Warriors." The clips from other movies used here are used in several other cheap, bad fantasy films, such as the Deathstalker sequels.

Snoring in the Lost Kingdom,

"Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 2" is one of the worst fantasy films ever made;it's down there in the lower depths with "Dungeons and Dragons",the Jeremy Irons/Thora Birch farce. I accidentally rented "Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 2" without having seen the first one. Not that I would be missing anything. In "Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 2",a naive young shepherd boy named Tyor must retrieve and/or destroy magical objects. Tyor has a bumbling mentor who gives him heavy-handed moral lessons. At one point, the pre-pubescent Tyor has the moves put on him by a scantily clad sorceress. It's one creepy scene that'll have you saying "ick." The movie plods along. I have up out of boredom. For a fantasy epic, nothing much happens. A perfect companion to the equally dull "Quest of the Delta Knights." David Carradine has a campy appearance as the Dark One,a semi-Aragorn figure. He gets introduced through a pointless bar brawl. Bad movie stalwart Sid Haig (who's also in "Forbidden Dance") stars as well. "Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 2" is a perfect cure for insomnia. It also explains why the Oscars tend to snub fantasy films. When they're this idiotic, they're justified.
