I know some of you guys think this is a waste of money, but i would say this is worth your money. I mean, do you want to print 200+ pages full of words? or would you like a book with pictures and cover everthing in W&W.Why I put my rating to 5: This book covers all the quest. This book gives you tips for completing quest at certain levels. This book has maps on all the places like forests, swamp or crypts. This book is a easy to understand. And finally, this book is a life-saver!

Don't Waste Your Money,
By A Customer
This review is from: Wizards & Warriors Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
This book has been absolutely no help to me at all in the game. There are errors and omissions, muddy maps that don't have some important areas marked, and it is generally lacklustre in effort. It makes you wonder if the author actually played the game. My suggestion is to save your money, and go to a couple of the websites that exist for the game. The Ironworks has a Wizards and Warriors Forum and there are *accurate* walkthroughs for the game.

Save your Money, Folks,
By Mage Merlin "old timer" (Pittsburgh, Pa USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wizards & Warriors Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
This book is a waste of money, folks. What this guy tells you, you are able to figure out for yourself. I buy the guide so that I don't need to go through all of the combinations and permutations for puzzles that need this type of solution. I buy the guide so that I am sure that I have the right item to solve a problem. I look for accurate information and not misleading strategies. This book did not satisfy my needs. It was misleading, inaccurate and incomplete.

Better than nothing!,

OK, it's not the best strategy guide, but given the skimpy manual and the glossy but inaccurate map that comes with the game, it gets the job done. As an early reviewer wrote, there are missing parts and some serious errors. What really hurts the most is the lack of a "by the numbers" walk through: First do this, then next you go here, don't go to C before you've talked to B, etc. There is some of that, in a few places, but not nearly enough. And the encounter guides give you little information on how tough your foes will be. For example, it ought to say don't try the toad quest until your party is at level xxx and has yyy hit points or you'll be slaughtered. So, is it worth the money? Yes, but just barely!

Pitiful excuse for a guide book...,

What you get here is page after page of misinformation. And.. just to add to the mix.. ommissions that are critically important to completing quests.. not to mention obtaining the game's ultimate goal. One entire (and very huge) area has no corresponding map what so ever.Save your money and visit the fan sites. You'll get better info there.

I've had this game for years now and have yet to beat it. Mainly because I have trouble getting to work correctly with the most recent operating systems. I'm hoping this book can help me speed my way through a little quicker. So far it has worked great. Learned a lot of things that I never figured out in all my years of playing it. It has details about every single spell which is very helpful. It even tells you which spells can be learned from books. It has all the minimum stats for the elite roles like Barbarian, Ninja, Monk, etc. I can actually plan out my game a little better with this.
I am also using it for information and maps to run a DnD game which is based off of Wizards and Warriors. Overall this is a great book. It does not show the location of every treasure chest and does not tell you every little detail about the game. It does however go over all the main places, dungeons, and people. Excellent walk through with enough left out to keep the game surprising and interesting.

As mentioned by other reviewers, this book is full of errors and omissions, but the value of this book will vary from user to user. For the expert players who want to uncover ever item or event this game has to offer, this book is a one star affair.
For the average player who gets stuck on occasion, this book is a two or three star rating, because unfortunately, some of the errors relate to parts of the game where players are likely to get stuck. Still, it is convenient at times to have the book handy for the maps, etc. in an organized fashion, in contrast to the Ironworks gaming website which provides a wealth wealth of hints and other information about the game, but at times is difficult to use since it lacks the organization of the book. Of course, anyone who desires to play this game should be warned that this game is very buggy, especially if you try to run this game on Windows XP or higher. Parts of the villages and other aspects of the game won't work properly but the forums at the Ironworks gaming website are very helpful for fixing or getting around certain bugs.

Got my book in today and was really pleased at the condition it was in, it was basicly like new! Anyway the book is very useful at listing quest and showing detailed maps (even though the picture are in black in white). Having this book at least helps you get an idea of where your going and what to do. If you have the game and online walkthroughs arn't detailed enough, I'd get this book. It is very useful for helping you keep track of your quest for the Mavin Sword.
