This is the first thing you need to buy if you're interested in the Neopet Trading cards/game and contains everything you need to get started towards a new addiction. You'll have to buy booster packs to feed your current deck (as per tradition) and Neopets has promised to publish new stacks as the years go by.

While the game stragety is less complex than some of the current items of the same category, Neopets makes up for it with the added interaction on it's website. Each card has a little text blurb about the card's usage, history of the item/character/thingie and other little references to the storyline of the website and players can either play with the cards or give each other a detailed history of his/her own pet or experiences in Neopia. Each booster pack also contains a "special code" where a virtual item (neopoints, an expensive item or a booby prize) can be collected for their account.

It's a very complex world and I think parents would also have fun picking up the cards and asking about a favorite pet or neopian item. It's easier to be hunched together over the playing mat than crowded at the computer screen ;)

I have had many hours of fun playing with myself with these cards, despite I being an adult, I have no other people to play with. This is fun, and is hard to bend (or break) the cards unless you try to. I belive parents and children alike should buy this toy.

There are different rarities of card, such as the Common cards, the Rare cards, the Uncommon cards, and the Holographic Rare cards. It has characters from the online site 'Neopets', such as Lord Darigan, and made up ones who are not in the site, such as Siyanna of Taldor. Overall, I'd give this toy a 4.5. And the artwork is pretty.

Many people have been complaining that the majority of the new, popular card games are all for kids. They have the idea that YuGiOh is a stupid game for losers. They also might think that NEOPETS is not good, only because of the title. Well, for the record, this is one of the best games that Wizards has published since MLB Showdown and Magic the Gathering. Neopets is a game where you get to take your neopets everywhere, at any time and still play with them when you are not online. Its a fun, immersive game that has great, colorful graphics that are cheery for both kids and adults. The game even has a certain educational value just like the other card games out in the market. When kids play card games they get to practice their math skills and their reading skills. It will help basic reading and math skills improve tremendously. This almost guarantees that they will be very smart when they reach their High SchoolYears. For older people, it helps them stop and think, and learn how to use logic to strategize. I assure you people that you will love this game if you just give it a chance. You will not regret buying this game. Don't judge until you buy and play. If it is given a chance, it will become the next big hit in card gaming. Buy it, Enjoy it, and have fun. I hope this review made you meditate. Never criticize until you try. BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i got this item over vacation when i became iddicted to neopets again my brother went on vacation over the break and got me this my parents also did i am very happy with the cards and plan to spend the rest of my x-mas money on more cards (its100$) i realy suggest all neopets related products to every1 and hope every1 who reads this will join neopets

When I first heard about the coming of the Neopets TCG, I instantly thought 'where can I buy it?'...
I opened the packs later that day and didn't really understand what to do. But after searching on our computer for a bit, I knew how to play and craved having a Starter Set. So a couple days after the holiday, I bought my first Neopets Starter Pack.
My dad and I attempted at playing and were successful in the fun department!
The game is very easy to follow and has lots of choices for you to make. It's fun to create your very own deck and think about which cards will help you. It's also a blast to open booster packs and collect your favorite pets. There's never a dull moment when you play the Neopets TCG!
*TIPS*
Load up on Items and Equipment that you can use and bank in play.
Make sure your Neopets are beneficial for you. Don't put in ones that won't help you just to fit the 10 Neopets minimum.

I got this for my b-day and forgot about it until now.I lost the playmat so found out how to play on the computer. I made my deck but have no one to play against (sigh) but right now it looks pretty darn fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am have been a Neopets player for nearly 2 years, and I just got this set in christmas 2003. This set had pretty bad cards but it has alot of extremely good cards also. If you play Neopets, neomail my account LigerXzero04.

I like Neopets a LOT! (GO JERAN! Hope he didn't die in that plot twist.) So, naturally, I wanted to buy the TCG. So, I did, and I was NOT disappointed. It was fun building my own deck, but I can't play it yet... okay, I'm rambling. And you can do two things with the two decks: give one to a friend or keep them both. So, get this (and the expansions for maximum entertainment)!

I'm an avid adult player of the Nepets website and when i found out they were coming out with a TCG i knew i had to check it out. The results of combining a website with a card game is surprisingly fun. The art work on each card is excelent. My only complain about this starter deck is the large number of duplicat cards it comes with. Thankfully the bonus expansion pack it comes with provides a variaty of diffrent cards. The "Something has happened" cards are a lot of fun :). All in all its a great game for all ages and a perfect gift for any fan of collectable card games.

As a 34 mother of 3, I found the rules much easier than Yuh Gi Oh, which I am still trying to figure it out.

This basic set is cool, because with it alone, you can play with a friend.
For it to be a legit deck you need a few more cards, but you can have fun with what is in the deck.
