The Readingpen does what it is advertized to do. It could be imporved to read more than one line at a time.

I purchased this pen for my wife. She is an Administrative Specialist. Until recently, I didn't even know she had a reading deficiency. I noticed that her writing had a lot of spelling and grammar errors. But she uses a computer at work so the computer mostly corrects the mistakes. After a lot of digging and prying, I found out that she's had this problem since she was a child...through college...and occasionally on the job. So I searched around and couldn't find anything that would help her. A school administrator at my church told me about this pen. The school district had purchased some of these pens to help their special needs children. She allowed me to borrow one...and my wife absolutely loves it. Don't get me wrong...my wife is highly educated, but she has a deficency similar to dislexia but not quite. Anyway, this pen has changed her life. Even though she may know the word, she may not recognize the word and the pen helps her with that by sounding out and spelling out the word for her. This pen is amazing. I even use it to scan verses of the Bible into a file for future reference. This reading pen is awesome!!!!!!!!!

I purchased this item for an individual who is severly dyslexic. He has been very pleased with the Reading Pen. Once you get the hang of the scanning option it's easy to use. The voice speaks phonetically and could be improved, but overall it has opened an avenue for learning that he has never had before.
