The best cleaner for both Chinese cast iron and for carbon steel woks. Removes stuck on food residue very gently, while still preserving a thin layer of seasoning or patina. The best for all woks, but particularly newer woks that aren't deeply seasoned yet. When you have lived with woks and seasoning them, you will come to love this tool. I love if for my cast iron skillets too--it really gets the food residue off these metals while still preserving the seasoning. Never have found anything as good at this as these bamboo brushes...!

This was given to me with my new steel wok from Japan. Cleaning up after stir fry was a snap but I made a big batch of fried rice and could not imagine how I would get the sticky rice off without soap. This whisk brush worked like a charm, quick and easy!

I used to use this kind of bamboo brush in China. But this one was way too hard. It felt like a stick rather than a brush. I did not like it.

This is the traditional whisk that you use to clean your wok. You must clean it when it is hot and use only water and the whisk. Ordinary scouring will damage the patina from seasoning.

I thought this worked pretty good. I stir-fried some chicken which marinated in soy sauce and cornstarch. I had some stuck on residue so I cleaned it before adding my vegies. I just brought some water to a boil in my wok and whisked the stuck on food away. Wiped it out and continued with the rest of my meal. Clean up was very easy. Who cares if it doesn't last very long, it's only $2.50.

When it comes to the cleaning of my cooking products I am very picky, know that this is the best product for cleaning your wok, it is quick, it works, and it does a fantastic job, I am very happy with the quality of products I received from this shipper.

I use this all the time to clean my cast iron skillets and dutch oven after use, and must say this is the method that I prefer most for caring for the cast iron cookware. It scrapes the bits up. I got this in 2008 and am writing this review in 2012, and it has held up great after all of that time.

I ordered several of the 7" cleaning whisk and was sent only one and the others were the larger 10". The larger size is too big to handle for what I needed. The other problem with these whisks is they don't hold up for very long. They are fairly inexpensive though so it's not that big of a deal. I use these to clean out my cast iron skillets and they work great for that because they don't scrape off the seasoning.
