My wife and I have seem inferior graters at our local swap meet for $20.00

We went online when we got home and found this.....much better. The mouth of the fish acts as a pour spout if you want to get all the "juice" and the tail is a great place to grab with your thumb and forefinger for stability. The graters at the swapmeet were just small dish like units. For the price and features, this is way better!!!

I saw a similar product like this at a home show, costing much, much more. Even though the fish is smaller than I had hoped for, it is very well made and works great! I have used it for garlic & hard cheeses and was glad I had purchased two. Now I have an extra fish to give as a gift. The seller sent it right away and was kind enough to include a couple of small gifts with my purchase at no charge which was a really nice surprise! As long as you are aware of the size of the fish...you will not be at all dissapointed.

And it's cute enough to leave out on the window sill. Wonderful for ginger root and nutmeg.

I am delighted with this ginger grater. It is totally functional as well as attractive - the kind of item you would be happy to display in your kitchen. Regular graters just don't do the trick with ginger, no matter how small the holes. This tool, however, grates ginger to a perfect consistency. I especially like the fact that the dish is rather deep, which I am not sure comes across in the picture. As another reviewer pointed out, the tail of the fish is a perfect spot to press you thumb down to hold the grater in place while grating.

This item arrived quickly and was packaged securely to avoid breakage. This is not just another "gadget" that will end up in the back of the cupboard. If you use ginger, this grater is a must in your kitchen.

I made an Indian dish tonight that called for a grater such as this. This little thing did the job perfectly. It also cleans up in a second under running water.

I purchased this grater based on the good reviews it received. I needed a ginger grater for baking - I'd been using a microplane, but that was unsatisfactory - hard to get all of the juice, scraped fingers, etc. this little grater works great! I usually cover it with a double layer of plastic wrap before grating my ginger - this way, I can easily clean the grater afterwards. well worth the price!

This is the only ginger grater I've ever owned, so I can't compare it to others. But it does everything I need it to...easily grates large pieces of ginger It doesn't take up a lot of space. I liked mine so much that I ordered one as a gift for someone else.

I love using fresh ginger in my dishes but hated the hassle of grating it on my box grater because the stringy fibers would get caught up in the blades and I couldn't use all of the ginger out of fear of cutting my finger. Plus I had to clean out the box grater, which was another time consuming chore. When I happened upon this fish grater on Amazon.com I decided it was worth a try since it was so inexpensive. I tried it for the first time today and was surprised how quick and easy it was. Plus I could grate every piece of the ginger. it is a breeze to wash up under the faucet and its also dishwasher safe (and microwave safe). I stored it in my drawer until my daughter saw it and insisted we leave it out on the counter because its so cute. This is my newest favorite kitchen tool. One tip for peeling ginger is scraping it with the side of an ordinary small metal spoon.

Easy to use. You get all the garlic and its juices too. I paired it with the Zak Designs E-Z-Rol Garlic Peeler. And hey you can't beat the price. Even with shipping, it was cheaper than other brands.

I have not had a chance to grate yet, but am satisfied with the arrival, packaging, and appearance of the fish dish. It is very cute and came in good condition.
