I have this rake with the aluminum handle from Wolf-Garten. Like all of their products (and I have quite a few) it is of exceptional quality. However this combination is somewhat tiring to use because of it's combined weight. My old cheapo metal tine rake with wooden handle from a big box home improvement store was much better (though the rivets wore out after a few years of use). Plus the tines are not as stiff on the cheapo rake which makes it more effective at separating or "flicking" the leaves from the grass and especially from ground cover. And it is wider yet much lighter. If I had my time back I would have just replaced my old rake. Maybe the wooden handle from Wolf-Garten is lighter but I don't feel like throwing good money after bad.

I love the WOLF-Garten tools that are detachable. You need carry only one handle and whatever tools you need. This rake works very good and is a nice addition to my WOLF-Garten collection. Product description clearly states that you need the WOLF-Garten Multi-Star handle and that its not included.

Product is very good. Appears to be rust proof and built without a plastic base which can crack over time. The tangs are flexible enough to spread light earth over seed yet strong enough to push a stack of wet leaves.

Built like a tank, like all Wolf-Garten products, but that means it is heavy and not all that flexible. For simple chores like leaf raking, you may well be happier with a wide bamboo rake, which covers more surface area and stays close to the lawn top. This rake is not as wide as it looks in the picture, which makes me think it is not really designed as a leaf rake, but as a general garden rake. For general gardening purposes, it is well-suited. The heavy tines get down to the surface, which makes it good for removing dead grass and thatch, and scarifying the surface for seeding. It will also pull out lightly rooted weeds, which you sometimes have in your garden mulch bed and turf. So, I recommend this as a quality product, but if what you really need is a light, wide leaf rake for autumn, you would probably be happier with the traditional bamboo rake.

Scratchy, flexible metal tines - the best thing for your garden. Get those leaves, but don't scratch away the soil. And this marries up with the short and long WOLF-Garten handles. Long handles in the fall, and short ones for an in-close clean-up in the spring.

Why can't american companies come up with items like these. What an awesome tool to have. Every gardener should have wolf-garten in the shed.

It works well for raking, sturdy tines stood up to my chain link fence. Be sure to get a compatible handle for this or you're not going to get very far in raking your leaves on your hands and knees.
